Yeah, I don't remember the name because I think the movie is a waste of time.

The Grudge is based on a japanese horror flick called Ju-on: The Grudge.

Is the Japanese version way better? I've heard it is.

I loved the first Grudge movie. The second deviated a whole lot. If three does happen, it needs to complete the whole three movies and bind them together.

steverules
They need to kill the evil ghost lady and all her little ghost friends

Which, in turn, was based on "Juon: The Curse".
That was the original. A straight-to-video-in-Japan release.
Then they remade it on a bigger budget for Japanese and international independant release as "Ju-on: The Grudge"
Then it was the US remake.

Yep the originals, while less glossy and real low budgetted, were way creepier and a little weirder.

If there was one thing I could give the grudge movies credit for, it would be the storytelling in the second movie. Three storylines, all inter-connecting in the end. While the movie was sub-par, I thought that was a better touch for a horror movie.

The Eye is a different film entirely which is being remade with Jessica Alba. All the Grudge movies are remakes of their Japanese counterparts. Ju-on: The Grudge, Technically The Grudge 2 isn't a remake of the Japanese version. So far no one has been approached to star in this.

UPDATE:Takashi Shimizu isn't expected to return. Toby Watkins takes over.
