I just saw Rush play in toronto on Saturday (September 22nd) and it was amazing! They play better live then they sound on their Studio Albums!!! Seriously, they look like they have alot left in the gas tanks! I hope they have a few more tours and albums left in them! smile

Also I am attending The Arcade Fire in Lexington on Oct. 3rd! I cannot wait for that one as well.

Lastly I am going to try and see Porcupine Tree somewhere in Europe if I can... I leave Oct. 16th and will be there for about a month. That might also mean I can see Rush again.

Alpha Centauri
Coming up:

Joanna Newsom, possibly Mindless Self Indulgence, The Birthday Massacre, possibly Klaxons.

Kelly_Bean
I'm seeing Type O Negative on the 26th of October if all goes well. I may get in for free thanks to my connections but I'm still scared that I won't get to go. This is a once in lifetime thing for me, lol. And my obsession with the lead singer doesn't make it any easier on me.

Alpha Centauri
Why not buy a ticket?

-AC

Kelly_Bean
Because the tickets are being sold up in Louisville and I can't go there. My parents are supposed to be paying for it but I have to see Sebastian to give him the money and I may not see him for another two weeks. By then there's the potential that the tickets will have been sold out because they're only 20.00.

And it's finally going to be Van Halen, and not Van Haggar! I'd love to see them, but their probably a bit too pricy for me. Plus I don't want to see this "Wolfgang" kid either.

Schecter
im actually quite a fan of van hagar. schmoll
wolfgang is going a great job from what i can see on youtube.
sure i wish michael anthony was still in the band, but i also would like to see a tour with both roth and hagar. of course neither wish will come true. in fact, its not the fact that hes not in the band that ticks me off, but the way in which they just outright dumped him and seem to want to erase him from their hisory. the fact that they call it a reunion tour is pretty insulting to him imho.

he still plays shows occasionally with sammy hagar so i would love to check that out if they ever come to the ny metro area.

and yeah, pricey tickets. i got floor seats for $150 a piece. nosebleeds will still run you up like at least $60 if im not mistaken.

Nellinator
Haggar and Roth eras were both pretty good imo.

eek! This Sunday is Del Tha Funkee Homosapien!!!

And in November, GWAR! eek!

Alpha Centauri
I wonder if Roth is as nimble as he once was, haha.

It's funny, he seemed so sincere that this wasn't just a bunch of old farts touring, it was a genuine reunion that would lead to more albums.

You just know that in two or three years they'll have crumbled. I hope not, though, at least if they can make good music.

Deathblow
Went to the Brighton City Festival last thursday, saw Soulwax, DJ Format, Mampi Swift, Kidz in the Hall, Professor Green, Mitchell Brothers and Example. Amazing night/morning.

Me and two friends managed to sneak into the VIP section in the club where all the hip-hop acts were playing and we hung out with all of the guys above, plus Mike Skinner (aka The Streets). Example chatted to us for like 15 minutes and Naledge (MC from Kidz in the Hall) seemed to be genuinely impressed when I asked him if he knew if The Procussions would be touring the UK soon. It's cool to be down. I'll post the pics soon as they get uploaded.

back from van halen. first half was great (though the idiot techs ruined the sound. everything was topped out to the point of noise, but the band was dead on.) halfway through i got to see the first big eddie meltdown of the 07 tour. what a privilege. dragged his monitor from the drumkit, across the stage, and flung it at the tech. after that everything was kinda 'by the book'. i must say though, david lee roth kicked ass. really managed to hold the show together. alex was excellent. his solo was great. wolfie is doing a great job, though noticably shaken by dad's hissy fit. he just kinda stayed on his side of the stage and stuck to his mic after that.

on the other hand though, i was feeling his anguish because the sound guys really did **** up monumentally. some shitcannings tonight, for sure.

Jack Diavolo
on the 27th im going to see chiodos, the devil wears prada, scary kids scaring kids, and emery in boston

XxXDomLoverXxX
I'm seeing Bon Jovi.... again, in June Happy Dance

SelphieT
Saw GWAR just the other day.

They had two opening bands, I don't recall the first's name, but it was a local band from Burlington I believe, and they were pretty alright. I enjoyed them.

Then Horse the Band played, and I loved 'em.

Then GWAR. Isn't GWAR always amazing? I just wish they participated with the audience a little more, other than just spraying us with jizz, blood, shit, and pus. I got home, and I was covered with blue, red, yellow, and green dye. Took forever to wash out, that's the only bad thing about the concert. But I can deal with it.

Slay
Will be seeing Interpol on the 20th.

Refused
I saw the one and only Madlib live yesterday along with PB Wolf, Guilty Simpson, Percee P, and J Rocc. J Dilla's little brother was there too, he took the part of J Dilla on some of the Jaylib tracks. Pretty cool show overall.

Of all the rock concerts that came to my province this year, the Roger Waters and Rush concerts seem to have left the most lasting impression. People were raving about them for weeks.

I got my tickets for Radiohead in London next June. 50 quid. Damn expensive and I usually wouldn't bother, but for Radiohead it'll be worth it.

I went to see Bloc Party at the weekend and it was awesome!

SelphieT
Saw the Mars Volta last night!

They had no opening band, which I thought was kind of cool, more time for them of course. At first I was thinking, "More like the Late-Volta", they were over 30 minutes late, but that's okay, because they played for about 2 and a half hours, and it was an amazing concert. I danced the whole time, talk about fun. Plus Cedric is such a great front man, he kept us entertained well.

They are amazing live, everyone should at least give them a try.

The most recent concert I saw was Evanescence when they performed in Melbourne in February last year.

Dr. Octagon (aka Kool Keith)

Worst. Concert. Ever. Kool Keith lacked any ounce of energy and interaction (which is ironic due to the intimacy of the crowd) with the audience. The man was clearly rapping over his own voice on vinyl or CD (which ever of the two devices it was coming from) and was pulling some stupid ass bullshit on stage. Firstly, after a number of songs this other rapper that was accompanying him on stage was telling us how Keith wanted to be a singer and such instead of a rapper, which Keith acknowledge and then proceed to do some (intentionally) annoying high pitched squeals that, after the first two seconds became irritating but proceed for at least another two minutes. Then again, after another number of songs he went on to discuss porn and then got out some magazines from his bag and was just flipping through it and telling tell how hot she was and just talking about the kinds of porno mags and such. This went on for like 10 minutes. The song choice was awful and the DJ (Kutmasta Kurt) was ****ing up. It was so ****ing shameful that I walked out probably 20 minutes or so minutes before finishing as there was no way he was saving that show. I was (and still am) totally disillusioned.

Fallen

Dream Theater

It was their first time ever in Australia and they were nothing short of amazing. They played for 3 hours (with a 15 minute intermission of course) but they gave it their best and preformed with so much energy, passion and just good fun. The solo's from Rudess and Petrucci were phenomenal and Portnoy's and Myung's playing skill was nothing short of spectacular with LaBrie pumping the crowd into a moshing frenzy. Great night.

I just saw Bamboozle Left and Bon Jovi the other week. I'm on this event marketing tour now, so I don't know how I'm going to catch all the summer shows... Fall of Troy will be in Atlanta when I am though so I get to see that next week! What else... I'm hoping to go to Lollapalooza if I can get there. Chances are slim, but I'm hoping to win free tickets by being friends with American Teen (facebook.com/americanteen) on Facebook. It's some sweepstakes they're running to promote the movie... so I'm fine with trying to get in on that, hehe. Other than that, I'm hoping to catch Warped Tour as usual.
