Hey guys. No one had said anything about this on the Bond forum yet, and so I thought I'd mention it. It was announced today that Lois Maxwell, the actress who played Miss Moneypenny for over 23 years, has sadly died. She appeared in every single one of the first 14 Bond films (from 1962's "Dr. No" right up to 1985's "A View To A Kill", and so had the pleasure of acting opposite three James Bonds - Sean Connery, George Lazenby, and finally Roger Moore.
I thought it would be nice to open a thread on this topic in order to create a 'forum' where people can talk about her portrayal of Miss Moneypenny. For me, at least - much like Sean Connery - no matter how good any of her successors have been, to my mind she will probably always be both the original, and the best. After playing the character in all those Bond films (however brief her appearances may have been), she is bound to have left a lasting impression in the minds of Bond fans.
Sigh ... first Desmond Llewellyn (Q), and now Lois Maxwell; I hope that we will not be losing any more Bond veterans any time soon.
