Dragon Blade follows a young adventurer named Dal who seeks six legendary pieces of the "Dragon Blade," each infused with the soul of different guardian dragons. In an attempt to build the ultimate weapon and vanquish evil, the young protagonist embarks on a quest to find and seal away each of the six dragons, taking their souls and abilities in the process.

**For the record the game came out 9/25 so it's out now. The game is awesome and for some reason gamespot or IGN doesn't review it.

Since no one else is writing a review for this game I'll go ahead and do it.

Dragon Blade: Wrath of Fire
The story starts with a lengthy cutscene about Valthorian the Fire Dragon who came to the mortal world to stop the chaos. Valthorian broke the sacred laws of the dragons by interfering. Valthorian took six kings and bestowed upon them great power and knowledge. But the kings were tricked into believing that Valthorian was the one behind the chaos and so the kings attacked Valthorian and sealed him into the six shards of the Dragon Blade.

Vormanax the Shadow Dragon and his four brethen started to conquer the world. But one of the kings took the hilt of the Dragon Blade to try to free Valthorian but could not. The king died and so Valthorian called upon his bloodline trying to find one who could free him and stop the evil Vormanax and the four dragons have caused. One day Dal took the call and Valthorian started to train him.

Dal was engaged to Seri and the two were to be wed but than the Dragon Lord's army attacked the village. Dal claimed the Dragon Blade to fight off the attackers but Seri was killed. With that Dal set off with the Dragon Blade to put an end to Vormanax the Shadow Dragon, Norgiloth the Lightning Dragon, Morbius the Poison Dragon, Skaroth the Ground Dragon, and Jagira the Water Dragon and to free Valthorian once and for all.

Gameplay
A hack and slash game using the motion sensors of the Wii? A few months ago I would have said that would been a bad idea but that was before I played Dragon Blade: Wrath of Fire. Dragon Blade brings the hack and slash game to the Wii and is successful about it. You can perform dragon based attacks by defeating the five kings who stole Valthorian's powers. You start out with just the Dragon Blade and nothing more.

You will soon encounter the first king and gain the power to use a Dragon's Claw to deliver some powerful attacks. Using these dragon based attacks lowers your Fire Level and when you have no more Fire Level left you cannot use them. You can recharge simply by collecting Red Dragon Scales or by just standing still. You will go through five stages each with four levels. The first three are God of War like levels as you run through hordes of enemies fighting them.

At first hack and slashing is the best way to go by as you advance you need to perform certain attacks to get through. Swinging up on the Wiimore swings the Dragon Blade up, swinging down sings it down, and jabbing it jabs the Dragon Blade. This works well expect for a few times here and there when you will just swing from side to side. Blocking is easily done just by pushing A and B locks on while Z allows you to jump. It'll take a moment to get used to it if you played many Zelda games but once you get it down the game gets easier.

You will face the five kings in one of the three levels (level two or three but never one) of a stage. The kings are challenging mini bosses but once you learn their attack patterns and when not to attack they are easily taken out. You will die fighting all the kings at least once even the first one. Once you have the king's ability you will have new ways to take down foes. You can get a Dragon's Claw, Double Dragon's Claws, Dragon's Wings, Dragon's Tail, and Dragon's Head. All but the wings are activated by using the D-pad.

The wings can be used by jumping and than jumping again (double jump) or by pressing block twice to gain a fire barrier around you.

Now the real fun lies in the boss battles. These boss battles are epic. You fight the five dragons I mentioned earlier through three stages so to speak. You are trying to destroy all three power gems they have and by destroying one the boss changes attack patterns and becomes harder. These dragons take as long as stages (if not longer) to defeat and you will die fighting them over and over again to learn their attacks pattern.

The dragons are powerful and difficult to beat but once you know how to it gets easier. You face Jagira the Water Dragon first. This game is like God of War and Shadow of Colossus combined.

Graphics
Now the game stands up to God of War and Devil May Cry but not in graphics. The game is a low budget game so don't expect breath taking graphics. The dragons and the Dragon Blade looks wonderful and the lighting is great and the game has no slow down in frame rate.

Replay Value
With armor shards out there you want to replay the stages to complete the Dragon Armor. You will also be fighting all the dragons again and again because of the fun factor these dragons offer. Fighting the five dragons alone would be worth the $40 price tag.

Overall
A great game that no one seeems to know about for the Wii. The game offers amazing boss battles and great controls. After playing Metroid Prime 3 on the Wii though the graphics seem worse.

Score: 9/10

Pros: Controls work well on the Wii, great boss battles, usage of the Dragon Abilities

Cons: Graphics need an upgrade and no voice-actors expect at the beginning and the end
