A nice example of Supes pulling punches, he isn't sure how hard he can hit an enemy, he starts soft, goes harder, harder. His limit is not known, now even to him, as everytime he is put against someone who can take the hardest punch he es every thrown (his self imposed temporal max), he needs to go beyond that, like against Doomsday, Darkseid or Imperiex Probes and finds a new level he can hit an enemy without killing.
