Simple enough thread. Pick a character, post their lowest showing.

TWO RULES:

1. Must be, or had been at one point, canon. No webcomics, alternate universes, anything like that. Must have been an in-continuity comic.

2. Must be powers/talent/combat related. No weird cuckoldy shit. Looking at you Stilt. Stick to things like durable characters getting knocked out easily, or smart characters doing things that are monumentally stupid.

You ****ers love posting low showings, so let's see what you can do when you really try.

Hercules........getting knocked out by DD's billy club.

Silver Surfer getting armbarred by T'Challa ( although we all know that was PIS writing ).

The idea of that particular armlock technique is causing so much pain, the arm is effectively paralyzed.

In the comic book world where nerve strikes can one-shot Class 100 characters, that's nothing weird.

Anyway, McDuffie himself did backpedal on this (or it was his intent all along, we'll never know):

Yeah, CBR guy believes so, too:

I don't think the incident is nearly as egregious as fans have made it out to be over the years, but at the same time, McDuffie's explanation really doesn't follow, either. Surfer's "un-hand me" line was just him allowing Panther to restrain him? Come on. I just don't buy it. (...)

Exactly, we can't rule it out completely.

Took him 3 years and 3 months to make a statement on that laughing out loud Somehow, I don't think that Captain Atom dude was the first fan to ask him about it.

It was Cap's shield iirc.

I repent, it was Cap's shield but it was DD who deflect it to knock Herc out, but still a low showing for Herc.

Cap's shield hurt everyone from Ultimus and Griffin to Thanos and Onslaught.

That's what it does.

Herc's getting up in the next panel and his thought bubbles are giving us his commentary on the events.

He was getting tons of hate, but imagine how it felt, being asked for the nth time who would win in a fight / who was stronger / who was faster / whose cosmic pants could hold more energy without ejaculating all over the universe.

That's why I never minded him trolling some fanboys away.

Banner was depressed, grieving over Betty and even blaming himself for her death.

He also happened to get hypnotized in the cliffhanger in the previous issue. And Ringmaster's powers make you sloppy af.

Without any of such issues, Hulk dealt with the same attack in 2 panels in TIH #217:

I think your remembering it wrong.
In that fight Cap threw his shield at Matt. Matt used his Billy club to redirect it into the back of Here's head KING him. He also threw a Billy club that struck Iron man's boots putting him off course and hitting an awning over giant man taking the 2 of then out.

StiltmanFTW
It hit Herc in the back, actually.

And while he was knocked down on his ass, he was conscious, getting up and having thought bubbles.

X-23 gets stabbed by Raze, a shapeshifter disguised as Teen Cyclops. She falls unconscious and takes until nightfall to heal from the wound. Not to mention, it seems he was following her the entire time and she didn't notice. It's probably her lowest showing ever.

I don't actually mind stuff with ****y context as long as it gets explained. it's funny watching him talk about the snake and what he was going for, which is a fair point. IIRC if I'm remembering right, it took Vision and I think, Black Panther to beat the original one?

The whole story arc was heavily focused on the death of Betty, so indeed it does make sense.

Correct thumb up

Princess had a few snakes, most of them aren't exactly featless... one fought Iron Man even before it got a power boost.

Maybe she gets them from the Savage Land? Alien worlds? Or her snake-charming is an actual superpower that enhances them that way?

Plenty of ways to retroactively explain some of it.

DarkSaint85
What we need are lowest showings with no mental gymnastics. I don't want abhi coming in saying how if you squint in the background of Action Comics #52's letters page there's a diagram explaining why gorillas are the strongest beings in comics or some shit.

Didn't hear him either for some reason.

Weirdest thing is, she was written relatively normal for the most of the run, in terms of powerset. This happened totally out of the blue.

It was a crappy showing for the villains too. An entire team of prepped, superpowered time travelers can't come up with a better trap than just stabbing her?

Keep in mind Raze's shapeshifting was said to be better than Mystique's, who already was fully capable of masking her scent at that point.

Cosmic Thors is probably the lowest if we go by the actual difference in power of slugging it out with Galactus and then some regular ass person knocks you out with a rock.

At 600+lbs. That shouldn't have even budged him.
