Sinister was working in the Nazi death camps, performing experiments. Kinda like a mutant version of Hans Conrad Reiter only even MORE insane.

Um, the Nazis had Baron Blood. and if you think Namor, Cap, Wolverine, or the OG Torch stands a chance against the mad power of a 6' 6" NAZI VAMPIRE, then you're sorely mistaken. Plus, apparently, he shwooped Namor's girlfriend after the war.

I never really understood Baron Blood.

the German's also had evil National-Socialist-Frankenstein (not to be confused with Grant Morrisson's Seven Soldier's Frankenstein, who has a big sword and a gigantic revolver and fought super evolved Puritans on the Moon, modern age Marvel Frankenstein, or the Frankensurfer, who I think was killed consecutively by Iron Man and Dr. Strange)

I'm not sure what the deal in Marvel was, but in DC, it was because the Nazis had acquired the Spear of Destiny.

The spear allows control over the minds of Super powered beings. With it, Germany was unattackable by the super heroes.

The situation was finally solved when Hitler was assasinated by the Unknown Soldier. Who proceeded to fake Hitler's suicide and then spirited the Spear back to the USA. http://en.dcdatabaseproject.com/Unknown_Soldier

oh, and I'm pretty sure later on Hitler later on managed to attack the fantastic four.

oh! and he also managed to mind control Superboy in a Legion of Super Heroes story. Or maybe Superboy just THOUGHT he was Hitler? I can't really remember. Reading silver age Legion of Superheroes is kinda like taking acid, only with more flashbacks.

Symmetric Chaos
Bucky wasn't a big threat back then.
Fictional versions of Germany often have extremely advanced tech.
Germany had a number of Superheroes/villains on their side.

I think that was in a time travel episode....so that didn't actually happen.

llagrok
I don't see how anyone on that list could've given Sinister a decent fight, except maybe Namor. If he chose to actually fight people that is.

grey fox
Sinister made a Namor clone I belive.

Plus Germany had Baron Blood , Red Skull, Baron Mordo ect.

Yeah, that's when Sinister learned to "expect the unexpected"

nah, didn't his brain or something later become the hatemonger? and use his hate ray on them? I'll go digging and see what the case was.

because, really, there are few bad guys it's as satisfying to see your heroes take down as hitler.
