by gore i mean saw and hostel level of gore

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974 Version)- This hardly has any gore in it apart from at the very end but it relies on scares from its very realistic/documentary feel.

Halloween (1978 Version)- This again like TCM has hardly any gore in it at all it relies on scares from its music and tension.

Them/Ils - Good scary French film.

Halloween 1978 and night of the living dead 1963 or wotever year it was

I was going to say these two as well

" The Town that dreaded sundown" good movie, hardly a drop of blood. Good horror movie... the fact that it's a true story does not hurt either.
