This battle takes place in Metropolis....

Both of these characters are fighting smart.

Who wins?

Well it got me wondering...

Put them on a team and have them fight Silver Surfer and Absorbing Man. Now that is fight.

Metamorpho can turn into a silent unseen poison and Firestorm would be dead by the time he realized it. Or Firestorm could turn Metamorpho into inertron. And he'd be inert and useless. Unable to break the bonds. Effectively, dead.

FS see's the atomic structure of his surroundings, in much the same way that Neo views codes in 'The Matrix'.

5/10 to each, I'd say.

The only edges FS may have are speed, and the potential to BFR Meta.

dont' member any gl's teleporting, going intangible, firing nuclear energy ect. Not that they can't, just never seen it. He can make constructs like them from what I'm seeing. And probably do more as he is fleshed out as a character. I remember a firestorm curing someone of cancer as well. Fuse with other beings. Didn't say he was more versatile either. I just said he could do things they couldn't.

I've seen Green Lanterns firing nuclear energies, healing people, and going intangible.

Not sure about the teleporting off the top of my head - but they hardly need to, they're some of the fastest fliers in comics.

Has any GL made something out of nothing? Frozen someone solid? Ect? Just wanting to know. I know they can do anything they can think of, have they thought of it?

No. I made a statement saying firestorm could do things the Gl's could not. Based upon what I've seen them do. How that translated to me saying he was more versatile I don't know. So when pushed, I had to start naming things I have seen him do that I hadn't seen them do. Gday.

Why are you so defensive?

I'm just asking why you acknowledge that GL can do "anything" yet insist on asking whether he can do simple things such as teleport and freeze people. It's akin to acknowledging that Superman is Class 100 yet wondering if he can lift a school bus.

Made something out of nothing - Oblivion, and half a dozen imaginary green lanterns for starters.

Frozen someone solid - I've seen them freeze someone in time, I dunno if they've used actual temperature to do it, but I don't doubt it.

Galan007
Meh,

GL's can do most of the things FS/Meta can -- They just don't accomplish said tasks quite as often.

Agreed. I can think of very little that Firestorm can do that an experienced green lantern couldn't or hasn't. They just don't do the exotic as often.

Let's say 90% of the kids are totally average. About 70-80lbs. The other 10% are of the jolly variety. 110-130lbs. Female chaperon is about 125lbs. The male is 180. Bus driver is 230.

Steel. We want our children to be safe after all.

Soljer
Hmm...

Well, assuming there is no excess cargo (because anything dense enough to add the required weight would also destroy the steel), then, I have determined that yes, Superman probably WOULD be capable of lifting said school bus.

However.....

Scans, or it didn't happen. no expression.

Unfortunately, I don't imagine it'd be too difficult to find Superman saving a school bus full of kids. sad.

In the Firestorm vs Metamorpho battle, I'd have to
say that Firestorm would probably win this one eventually.
Because of the inertron argument.

No one cares about those B-Listers.

The topic's been changed to the capabilities of Green Lanterns, and Superman's (in)ability to lift a school bus.

That depends of how you define A list. If you keep it super exclusive, theres only about 6 or 7 A list comic characters.

She is one of the most recognizable ones. But when it comes to respect by comics writers, she is sadly disrespected. They can't come up with any decent stories, or villians. And they rarely show case her abilities to thier max. That has to do alot with Superman tho. He jobbers the entire DC. The only one thing that isn't affected by his jobber is the Batkick.

Her feats are hindered by him having to have all the uber strength feats. Or his villians. Superman takes the good writers. dont' know about artist tho. Cuz his art has been pretty bad of late. I could think of 6 ways to have her have uber villians right now. DC just sucks ass when it comes to WW.

If I were plotting her, you would be hooked every month. It's really about passion for the character.

Validus
I don't know. It seems kind of silly to blame Superman for WW's lack of success. It's not as if Superman/Action are the only good comics at DC these days or even the best.

JSA and GL are kicking ass and both of them are B list.

Very often, in both marvel and dc, the B-comics have a much better plot line than A-list.

Compare the Immortal Iron Fist to the crap that's being portrayed as a story in Wolverine's books.

As I said, he shuts off his breathing in space or something like that. He didnt' know he didn't have to breathe until he entered space conciously. Breathing is a subconcious thing learned over a life time. Why would he stop breathing in earth's atmosphere?

He had no idea what he could do, which is why he was questioning himself in that instance.
