Re: Classic Apocalypse vs Pre-Hat Thanos

Hell, I don't really care what Apoc is used, as long as it's canon.
But, this is Thanos before he died, and got upgraded, hence the Pre-Hat.No prep.
They fight New Jersey.
Who wins?

"Classic Apocalypse" is something that gets thrown around a lot by Trickster....It's basically just Apoc during his X-Factor days.
Trickster does have a point though. The line between "classic" and "current" apocalypse is when Apocalypse got his original body destroyed on the moon via a plot device.
That plot device was nathan summers (with the combined powers of cyclops and jean, btw) who had been designed by Sinister as the ultimate mutant with the sole and express purpose of killing apocalypse, much like how Chronos designed Drax to kill Thanos. Nothing else would have done the job.
Since then he's been using far weaker "host bodies." Classic apocalypse went toe to toe with the high evolutionary, and took everything the entire roster of Xfactor and the Inhumans had at him simultaneously without slowing down.
NOTHING was ever shown to be able to do any kind of damage to apocalypse before said plot device. He's even been shown tossing Loki around like a rag doll during acts of vengeance, and Loki has enough magical power to make strange look like an amateur. After that body was massively injured, he went through several phases where his "regeneration" was continually interrupted and finally died during the sins of the fathers storyline as that body broke down.
since then he's been punked left and right by things he used to flat out ignore, and it was established during cyclops and phoenix that he had started using host bodies in an attempt to find something that could contain his power. This is why stryfe was raised in the future to BE that container, since anything less could only contain a fraction of his true power and rapidly burn out in the process.
Apoc tried AGAIN to use the power of "the twelve" to allow him to take over the body of Nate Grey (basically an uninfected cable, or a copy of stryfe) that would restore him to full power. He failed due to cyclops' interference, but even taking over CYCLOPS' body gave him a substantial power boost over the one he had been using.
If there was no difference between post death and pre-death apocalypse, why was he suddenly so desperate to find replacement bodies?
Pre-hat thanos and Classic Apoc were basically clones of each other. Able to control themselves on a molecular level, invent powers at a whim, amp themselves to unknown levels, and a frightening level of technology at their disposal.
this would be a great comic to read, but the battle part would suck due to the fact that apocalypse never gets to "cut loose"(his opponents shouldn't ever survive him). they would make a better team than adversaries. plus cosmic power is somthing that apocalypse covets so thanos wins in the end 100%

Apoc technically already had it. He was running around with celestial tech so advanced it was literally alive. He imbued the hulk with the power of "two universes" when he turned him into war. If that stuff doesn't channel cosmic power I don't know what does.
