And proof that PS can even achieve absorbing the HOTU? Just because Thanos could, doesn't mean anyone could. Even PS.

Also, the HOTU was hidden, and off the maps until they needed to find the power source/base of Ak. It took Thanos years before that to not find it, and everything told him it wasn't there. But of course PS will know about this...

Good thing Spectre was hostless, and not backed by God... otherwise PS would have most likely been destroyed on the spot.

How can he be on the same level, if he's second to God? Wouldn't that make him second to God, along with three others?

Well it was stated that PS was so powerful that he could end every crisis from the getgo but is prevent from doing so because if he did every crisis would be 1 issue of the same thing. He is only allowed to guide others in the correct direction
