Not really...he would get wrecked if he tried,orion can also amp his physical stats with it and has a mb to further drain hals energy.

Orion. IIRC, it was stated that New Gods could control the GL energy. Orion also took Kyle to school with no problem. Yes, Kyle was a rookie, but he had some formidable feats then.
