You got to hand it to Quan Chi. He is just as sneaky as Shang Tsung, if not sneaker.

He even had Rayden, Subzero I, and Shinnok fighting over a phony amulet while he kept the real one.

He also gave Shang the much-needed assist in his match against Liu Kang, not to mention killing off Kitana as well.

Regardless, Quan Chi is one nasty bastard, and we respect him for that...that and the fact that he will beat you to death your your leg after ripping it clean from your body.

The Deadly Alliance was successful in reviving the mummified remains of the Dragon King's undefeatable army. It would appear that nothing could stand in the way of Shang Tsung and Quan Chi as they began their domination of the realms. Unfortunately for Shang Tsung, however, Quan Chi had no further need for the partnership. Once Shang Tsung had finally revived the last of the mummified warriors, Quan Chi closed the portal to The Heavens and effectively shut off Shang Tsung's endless supply of souls. Quan Chi then instructed Kano to assassinate Shang Tsung in a surprise weapon attack. With their captor cut wide open, the thousands of souls Shang Tsung had consumed in the past spewed forth and swirled around the room.

Quan Chi came to the realization that if Kano could so easily turn on Shang Tsung, he could also turn on Quan Chi himself. Quan Chi used his sorcery to drain the life from Kano and left his body where it fell. Immediately one of the lingering souls shot into Kano's body. To Quan Chi's surprise, the man standing before him was no longer the Black Dragon thug known as Kano. Kano's body now contained the soul of the Shaolin monk... Liu Kang.

It's ironic that a sorceror of Quan Chi's caliber would end up getting turned into a Kamidogu by the Elder Gods after winning the "prize" by defeating Blaze (concerning his Armageddon ending). erm If that ends up being a "canon ending" and not a "what if" ending for the next MK game (that takes place after Armageddon), that would mean no more Quan Chi, and the Chi fans would get pretty pissed. stick out tongue Still though, he deserved to be turned into a Kamigodu after what he did to Orin (Taven's dragon comrade) and Scorpion's family & clan, among other things.

As far as using Quan Chi in the games, I was best with him in MK4. His Teleport Stomp was an incredibly cheap move, as was the move where he steals the weapon the opponent's holding stick out tongue, but you gotta love him in that game.
I also thought his armor in MK4 was much cooler than how he appeared to be in Deadly Alliance (without it).

Anyhow, nice thread.

Quan Chi putting up a good fight against the Great Kung Lao in the live action Mortal Kombat Conquest series.

There's also a pretty cool fight scene of him and Shang Tsung (as a result of their alliance being broken). The battle ends up being a tie though, unlike their fight in the Deception intro.

(but the sound in this video's pretty messed up for some reason)

Quan Chi and one of his 3 personal assassins (forgot which one) get slain by Shao Kahn's Shadow Priests.

Mega, no. Super-awesome tribute of Quan Chi in the Mortal Kombat Konquest series, as he infects Kung Lao, causing him to fight all his friends, and eventually Quan Chi himself.
