Michael possibly shows some mercy and ask Thanos to hand over the IG first. If he doesn't, Michael sends Thanos on a one way ticket to Death to play with.

However, this is by no means a stomp. Michael would have to whip out his creation powers and fast, or else he'll suffer the same fate Lucifer would, as he would be BFR'd and smashed into oblivion.
