OK, so when I bought my laptop it came with Windows XP installed, no disc. However this version of windows broke...something about a file missing...anyway luckily the laptop has an in-built system recovery...however I couldn't get onto the desktop to activate it...so I installed a less than reputable version of Windows XP onto my laptop(deleting everything on the C: drivet) so that I would be able to run the recovery system...which is stored on a seperate drive called RECOVERY.

However the usual link, found in System Tools is no longer there...but the drive is...how do I boot from that drive?

Actually they are two partitions on the same disc!

Oh and don't laugh at the size of my hard drive...

restart it in failsafe and see if it isn't possible to make a recovery that way round.

Maybe have a look at a boot disc.
