Worst comic writter of all?

Ok so whose the worse writer in all of comics history? Or more so who's screwed up a character the most of all?

So it can not be necessarily a bad writer just someone thats made the all time worse decisions or contributions to a single character or comic universe over all!

IMO after just reading the final part of One More Day, I gotta say Quesada 100%
My frustration over that is beyond words. Just ask my friend Primetiva who I was with when I heard the rumor and rushed to the comic store where I saw the horrible ugly truth and who saw my terrible reaction. Allot of people stared. no expression

So anyway back to main topic.
Whose your choice and what exactly did they do?

Was it J. Michael Straczynski and Joe Quesada with Sin's Past and One More Day?

Or Maybe Huddlin with the infamous Armbar?

Or something entirely different?

Wil Pfeifer.

According to JMS, he didn't even want his name attached to One More Day. Lulz

And the correct answer is Rob Liefeld.

And the correct answer is Rob Liefeld. I know I read that but still.

Anyway thats why I attach the blame almost entirely to Joe!

btw, also add what they did that pissed you off the most!

Well in the case of Liefeld, he was born.

I thought Liefeld was an artist?

I'd go with Loeb personally. I've never seen anything remotely well written from him.

Wow... talk about over exaggeration.

Loeb has done some great work.

WrathfulDwarf
I think Loeb is in the same boat as Morrison.

Both done great works before but lately they drop the ball quite too often.

Or Hush for that matter.

WTF @ Morrison/Loeb comparison

And yes, Liefeld has written in the past. It's just as shitty as his art.

Jim Lee made Hush. The story was mediocre at best.

WTF @ Hush as a mediocre story.

Loeb has done some fantastic works such as almost all his Batman works (most notably IMO Batman: Hush) however I hate what he has done with Ultimates vol 3. He has managed to turn my favourite comic book series of all time into my least favourite (No exaggeration) which is quite a feat of destruction yes

Anyone who compares Morrison to Loeb deserves to be shot. In the face, repeatedly. no expression

Morrison is wacked, but he's a genius when he gets going. Seven Soldiers and his run on JLA are godly.

batdude123
God dammit, Trick. Take your medication.

Kazenji
How can you call liefield bad when he created the "merc with a mouth" Deadpool.

I sense this thread was started to honour Jeph Loeb roll eyes (sarcastic) ...

But he has done great work in the past. A decline just started after the Hush storyline, though - and it's become a nosedive.
However, who's gotten more criticism the last few years than Hudlin or Pfeifer?
I know someone's going to say Bendis, but at least he does some experimental narratives that take some thought.

Superherovandal
Actually I think this thread was probably made primarily in response to Joseph Quesada's "One More Day" storyline.

(Oh and I don't know if you noticed but the title of the thread is misspelled)

So this was all JQ's idea, and JMS was forced into doing it?
That's a bit heavy handed for the easy-going JQ. It smacks of Dan Didio. wink

After Reading Ultimate Power 9, Loeb is for sure on this shit list.

Even then both are copies.

Accel
Liefeld also had a hand in creating Domino, Cable, and Supreme. They're all good characters, but they all pretty much sucked at first when Liefeld was writing them, along with Deadpool and Youngblood.

It wasn't until other, better writers took over those characters that they developed into better characters tat we're more familiar with today.

I liked Supreme. He was pretty cool at first. When he changed I hated it and never read him again after 2 issues.

Tony Stark
Any writer of any Wolverine title... Because they all somewhere in the storyline give him some sort of upgrade on something.

You mean, you hated it when Alan Moore took over and actually did something with that character? confused
