Which Story is Better Sinestro War or Annihilation?
Superboy Prime
Sinestro Corps War by much.
Scoobless
I like and dislike aspects of both.
TricksterPriest
It's pretty obvious that as good as Annihilation was, it just doesn't measure up to Sinestro Corp War. Another feather in Geoff Johns's cap.

quanchi112
Annihilation Wave was better than Sinestro Corps. Both are great stories though.

Seriously, are you that much of a biased marvel troll?
Sinestro Corp War is better than almost anything Marvel has put out in the past 2 years.
AW is only good when compared to the disaster that was Civil War. It's a good story, but great? Hardly.
Quesada should bow down and pray for writers like Geoff Johns.

Anyway, I thought Annihilation was great... I guess I'm a bias Marvel troll as well. I loved the story more than anything that came out of Marvel in the last... 20 years. IMO (notice, IMO. And I say that because it is my opinion, and you can't tell me how to think), I think it stacks up to SC War. Do I have an opinion of which one is better? Not at the moment. However, it did incorporate many of my favorite characters from Marvel, and made them main events. I even walked out with some new love, and respect for some characters that were brought into a main event, with no previous encounters of a scale that big, and were made into stars. Who did you walk away with newfound respect for? Yat? Lulz.
And again, IMO, Marvel took bigger chances with smaller characters. They didn't bring in brand new characters, or recently introduced characters... they brought in pieces of shit no one gave a rats ass about before the event, and whether or not they sold shit all, they made them the main events. Annihilus? Nova? Ronan? Super Skrull?
Compare their popularity to Superboy Prime, the GL's, Anti-Monitor, Cyborg Superman, Sinestro, and kill yourself (no... I mean it).
Of course, chances don't make a story great, but when they take that many chances, and still sell copies like no tomorrow (nevermind that it was a good read), there's got to be something up...
And yes, call me a bias Marvel troll, call me whatever you want, but unless I'm conformist, and don't see something that's there, I'll be damned if I ever take your ass load of butt juice above my thoughts.

This coming from the dc fanatic. I mean seriously this is a matter of opinion so since I like Annihilation Wave better you find fault in it. I mean come on this is all opinion and shouldnt be argued. You like to troll me wherever I go and you get called out by other posters all the time now for it.
Do us all a favor and hush up most of the time. Arent you sick of being hypocritical? You have yourself admitted to being biased for dc and all I did was said that I liked Awave better. So I guess everone who says Awave was better is wrong and is a marvel troll.
You crack me up man.

Focus on yourself for once and dont worry about my opinion so much. You will be a much happier person.
llagrok
Annihilation took a lot of characters that I knew nearly nothing about (or had no respect for) and made me love them. Ronan the Accuser, Super Skrull, Drax the Destroyer and Nova, I had no idea who these guys were. All I knew about the two former was that they fought the F4 and lost a couple of times, nothing more.
Annihilation made me read up on characters and made me take an interest in a lot of them. We got to see a lot of herald level characters make an apperance, Red Shift durwoot, Firelord and Stardust. I felt that it gave a lot of characters depth, especially Super Skrull and Nova.
Fortunately, I didn't know anything about DC characters when I started reading the Sinestro Corps. After reading the first issue, I reread a lot of old Green Lantern comics as well as the Rebirth and Recharge, which ARE ****ING AWESOME. Marvel gambled when they did Annihilation, but people shouldn't blame DC for betting on a winning horse.
JediSamuraiMRB
Great stories, but I liked the Sinestro War a lot better.
Bentley
They were both good, but I liked the play with character not that well established that happened on Marvel. I however, loved the SC war and think that it was great.
Val
SC was better and I'm clearly unbiased on this subject.

So he's a troll and biased because his opinion differs from your own? Thats ironic.
I do have a question though. What do you feel the need to constantly attack Quan?
Anyways, I don't prefer either over the other but AW was great.
Superboy Prime
Have you guys forgotten our reaction when we realized SBP, Henshaw, Sinestro, Ion AND Anti-Monitor teamed up?!
Symmetric Chaos
I liked Annihilation quite a bit more actually.
They both used the whole "giant fleet of aliens attacks the universe" plotline but Annihilation had it dealt with by characters that normally get little screen time. I think the writing was overall about equal but the more novel use of characters in Annihilation was far more interesting to me.
Superboy Prime
If you ask me the only thing that interested me about AW was Thanos dying.
id369
Sinestro Corp. - It was a fun read.
Annihilation Wave - Slightly inferior, but the insertion of unused or forgotten characters made an interesting read.
Annihilation Conquest - It sucks period.

Recently revived GL's, Sinestro, Henshaw, and SBP were huge before this event? They were for the most part as obscure as the MU characters you named until very recently.
SC elevated it's characters to a similar degree and helped forge the GL corp even more.
Both storylines were good. Personally I found SC a better read.

Sinestro was in some big popular events.
Henshaw was in some big popular events.
SBP was in COIE, and was the main villain in the semi-recent IC...
I'd say they are a lot bigger before the event than Nova, Annihilus, Ronan, Super Skrull... wouldn't you?

Zauriel has been in big events... so has the creeper...
Nova and Ronan have been in big events.
A facsimile of Super-Skrull was used in the recent FF movie.
Annihilus is probably far better known than SBP among people that don't follow comics regularly.
And I did say that RECENTLY the characters named were starting to be used more.
Either way...it's debatable.
Both storylines were pretty good. IMO SC was the better...

One reason I liked AWave better was because it was truly a war book. It had a day count and took its toll on the very universe. I hate it when its earth vs this big space threat and Im glad marvel didnt bring this fight to earth. It was to grand in scale to have them invade earth. But all in all both were very good storylines and it all comes down to which one you prefer.

All of the Infinity crossovers I'm sure.

Superman was voted the most hated on KMC. Wolverine and Cyclops were at the top as well.

This gives me an idea of a future battlezone. Im sure not many would be interested in this one but maybe I could entice Tricksterpriest to a battlezone with this one. All the characters in Annihilation wave vs all the characters in Sinestro Corps in a war.

"All the characters..." fights are kind of crappy. It'd be better if you could agree on a set number, or a set list of characters either of you could use before hand - it would also make it a bit more 'even,' and the two of you wouldn't have to worry about trying to debate about what fourteen thousand characters are gonna do.

Yeah I know but I really like the idea of these massive armies pitted up against each other. Imagine Annihilus and his wave setting their sights on the Sinestro Corps. Im sure trickster wont be interested in defending his dc boys anyways so in the end its just wishful thinking on my part.

I enjoyed Sinestro Corps more, but it was partly due to the consistently good art it had.
Had the Entire Annihilation been drawn by the guy who did the Surfer mini, i would've loved it.
That, and if i didn't have a predisposed disdain of anything with alien spacebugs at the helm.
Sorry, but cockroaches that shoot laser beams really don't make me think epic......it makes me think campy.
I did enjoy the SuperSkrull, Surfer and Ronan minis, but i hated the Nova mini, partially because it's Nova, and mostly because of the horrific art.
And the Galactus butchery was enough to make my stomach turn....hooking up wires to a semi-abstract cosmic god??? It was really stupidly handled, and without reason.
That was worse than when Starlin(iirc) had him take off his helmet.

Before the recent IC..SBP was used in like what...3 stories? Henshaw was known as a villain from return of Superman and hadn't seen action or use in quite a while. Sinestro was a joke.
None are any better known to the average reader than the MU characters you mentioned.
