I don't know, they touch on Dooku earlier, but do we really get invested? He's like the Kessel Run of characters, or Alderaan. They try to add in backstory but it's kind of... meh. He did good things? Any examples besides being a Jedi and not assassinating people? Reading about him, up to TPM or AOTC, yeah it could be a surprise (although with the facts out they plant more hints, usually).

We see him with the separatists... well since they aren't supported by the Jedi we as the basic audience see them as the bad guys, and they tried to assassinate Padme.

A real surprise would be Obi-Wan doing something dark, or Yoda (and maybe Anakin's interest is piqued). They pretty much stay on the up and up, though. Or Qui-Gonn being sort of light-dark balanced, or at least helping separatism.

I think I saw him in promo pictures or the newspaper as a villain... for most viewers the awareness probably ruins surprises, not living in a vacuum.

But it's like seeing ESB after 1980, everyone knows Luke is his son and it's assumed, but there's a continuity from the beginning.

What an odd fellow.

queeq
Very.

I;d like to see some point to this thread though.

General G
Yes, I couldn't make one out reading the first post either...

queeq
I'll have a little more patience... But not much.

General G
Well, he is new, so go easy on him. stick out tongue

I have to break him in early.

I was having a bit of trouble understanding the specifics of the first post, but to me having a rogue jedi turned darkie at least kept the story in logical chronilogical order--it gave Sid an already-trained force person who merely had to turn to the dark-side, vs. training a completely new apprentice from scratch, which would take a very long time. This way he has a high-level apprentice in a few years instead of many years. Basically like stealing another player from an opposing team.

General G
Yes, but we still fail to see a point to the thread...

Ah, whichever method best suits.

queeq
What is this thread about? I'm losing my patience.

General G
Then close! Use your impatience! evil face

queeq
I'd like to see singe defend his thread.

General G
Yeah...I don't think he's coming back.

queeq
Me neither. CLOSING.
