No one under IG level can hope to withstand the SOK.

Hell, DS alone could take Thanos easily.

The Saint of Killers defeats just about anyone thrown at him except for Blade (unless there's another undead hero character I'm forgetting), and he is taken out by the rest of Darkseid's team. There's very few characters short of undead/vampire types that can hope to give SOK a challenge.

In any case, I'm hard-pressed to think of a team that could stand to hope against opponents like Synn, Amazo (at his best, I'm assuming), and Takion. All three alone are bruisers of a high order of magnitude (even if Amazo widely fluctuates depending on his incarnation).

There are versions of Amazo that could take the IG.

Thanos was killed by Adam Warlock who was literally One with the Soul Gem.

In fact,
Warlock attacked Thanos from Soul World (withIn the Gem)
he appeared briefly in 616 in energy form STILL connected to the Gem and attacked,
he even had to return to retirn to Soul World,
cause technically, Warlock was still dead,
Warlock turned Thanos' Spirit and body into stone.

So essentially, he killed Thanos by targeting his Soul with the Gem.

The Gem alone, can obliterate a Solar System,
