Just seems like people such as Karnak might be useful as martial arts in an amalgam, but one would have to be more creative in order to make them relevant in a team format.

It's honestly a bit of a shame, because ill's tourney is sucking away my life at the moment. I love it, don't get me wrong, but I'd also be lying if I said I didn't think of all kinds of random things for this tourney just because the rules are so unique.

I was under the assumtion that once a "GL" or any version of a character was chosen, that all other versions were then unattainable for drafting...? Am I not correct?

Green lantern is a title not a codename. Unlike Batman or Superman where that's a codename, green lantern is like an officer designation. For example Hal Jordan is A green lantern he is not THE Green Lantern. So while Hal Jordan(Green Lantern) and Hal Jordan(Parallax) are two versions of the same character. Hal Jordan and John Stewart are two seperate characters. It'd be like saying since Batman was picked Batgirl cannot be picked. Or if Superman is picked Supergirl cannot be picked. They are two different characters that share the same powers and theme, but are completely different characters.

I guess this is where I purchase the mind control ability for my previously selected character.

Nah I asked Evangel about this with Dr. Fate as once he's chosen the rest are out despite being different people.

Well it'd makes sense in the case of doctor fate since that's more of a codename anyway. There were multiple Robin's Dick Grayson, Jason Todd and Tim Drake.. but Robin is a code name not a title.

Different people may have had the title of Dr. Fate, however there is only one singular Dr. Fate. So once Dr. Fate is selected, no other Dr. Fate's may be chosen.

Green Lanterns are a group. You can choose between them for your choices, however there is only one Hal Jordan, Kyle Rayner, etc. If Kyle Rayner GL is chosen, then no other person may try to draft Kyle Rayber GL, even from a different universe.

For example, If someone drafts wolverine, then ultimate wolverine is off limits.
