Anyone tried the RTS Sins of a Solar Empire?
I've kept an eye on the game a while, and really liked the GT review: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/31206.html

Seems like they finally made an RTS that I could really like again, I've grown tired of RTS like Age of Empires/Command & Conquer games where it often ends up being more about spamming/zerging then tactics etc. Anyone else felt like that? Or am I just weird :P?

it does look nice.. how long do the battles usually last?

I'll check it out sooner or later.

This is game should have a demo though.

I found another video I shoul dhave posted in the original post: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/28110.html?type=mov
It is a demo walkthrough where the developers are also talking about the game, if I remember correctly (haven't watched it in a while) they sai dthat battles can last for a short time or over very long periods, which si also why they have the "save" function even in multiplayer.

Sounds interesting.

Might pick it up during the slow season in the summer.

There is a demo of it.

Tried it out and I must say its pretty addicting.

At first, I was a little overwhelmed by the choices I had and was pretty much destroyed in the in the first battle.

But after a few matches a got the hand of it and beat the computer on easy for the first time and then was going to beat two computers when the demo timer ended.

What I liked was the scale of it and pace. Sometimes I get overwhelmed by fast RTS so its nice to have one thats a bit slow. Its not about quick thinking as much as strategy. It's nice for a change. Its basically Galactic Civ, or Civilizations in real time.

What I dont like is that the battles are slow and the movements are too. Its more of quirk than a problem but when I was chasing around the computer after I pretty much destroyed him by taking over his capital, I had to go around and destory each planet he colonized. 30 minutes later I was done mopping up.

It could be the demo but overall, seemed really fun and I'm going to try to pick it up if I can find it (when released no stores had a copy in Ottawa)
