Yeah, random post but I was wanting to know if anyone's had a kidney infection before and what it was like.


[I've already got a doctors appointment for another purpose but I will telling him about my "possible " kidney infection regardless so don't say "Go to the doctor you idiot!"

Our cat has a kidney infection. It also has a tumour in the stomach and is diabetic. We inject insuline in it twice a day. I surprised it still lives.

I usually just assume that's what it is when my side/back hurts. But it was never bad for me to go to the doctor.

You should definitely ask your doctor about it, so he can prescribe antibiotics. Kidney infections can get very serious.

Why don't you go too? cry I've been waiting for about a month or so with mine. I'm scared to wait too long, it might develop into something scary.

my mate had a kidney infection recently, she was in so much pain she had to take time of work.. and believe me she has never ever taken time off work, she continued working for 5 days with the pain and she works in a pub, mental!

Only when she phoned the doc and they told her she had to come in to see them did she get something done about it and was ordered to take time off work.

She had a fever and stuff with it, it was pretty bad because she left it and didn't get help.

I had a kidney infection this past September.
It was terribly painful. My back was hurting were my kidneys are.
I was constantly going to the bathroom with the urge to go pee but nothing and sometimes only a trickle of urine would pass. Doing that was like having birthing contractions when I was in labor.
I was nauseous and puking. Fever set in and I could barely get out of bed when I decided to go the doctors.

The Dr told me I had a bladder infection that turned into a kidney infection.

If you have a kidney infection or suspect that its possible, I urge you not to wait to go get checked.

Gosh yeah, this weekend I was REALLY bad like my lower (bladder) pains would come in intervals and I'd have to start moving around and moving my lower body to try and help with taking focus off of the pain. It'll go away, come back, go away, come back. I'll get the pains around 30 seconds to 1 1/2 mins appx. and they come every hour or so. I've also had back pain that I thought was "something else" and though it's gone now, it was unbearable when I had it..even pain killers wouldn't help. I know it's not a urinary tract infection because I have no trouble urinating or anything but it's almost freaking like someone has something constantly pressing down on top of my bladder forcefully even though I don't have to pee or anything.

It could be a bladder infection. Ive had those too and they are just as bad. One time I had one so bad, I was peeing blood.
It snuck up on me and my sorry ass ex thought I was faking it and wouldnt take me to the doctor :cry: so I walked. What shoulda only been a 5 minute walk as we lived only a block away, it took me 30 minutes. I was doubling over in pain so bad.

Oh wow that's sad!!! Gosh stupid ass man..I would've kicked him so hard in the nuts when I got home and showed him the prescription paper or bottle of pills: "Not sick, huh, *******?"

I'm tired of feeling like shit and I'm actually scared because I'm really prone to UTIs I guess because I've had more than one and my very first one was at 16 or 17 years old and I'm almost 19..I've only been to the doctor about one though but the rest I have cloaked with cranberry juice.
But shit, I doubt this is a UTI, I barely have any of those symptoms at all.
