What a piece of shit. I know this is an older comic, but the artwork is AWFUL and the dialogue is worse than buffy the vampire slayer. The only positive element here is the concept. Dc's attempt to streamline the multiverses into one was a great idea. Unfortunately, this attempt was lost in translation. I understand that this comic series may have been monumental at one time, but it is silly and childish by todays standards. This would be fine, i know that this series is somewhat important to DC, especially considering the death of the flash. My only problem is that everyone regards this series as one of the best. When i asked around, seeking tips on series to read in order to re-immerse myself in comics again. I was told to read infinite crisis EArths, time and time again. I wasnt told to read this series only to familiarize myself with the current comics, but because it was maturely written and offers incredible art.

Well, im here to tell anyone whom hasnt read this giant turd of comic...DO not read. I cannot stress how horrible the art work and dialogue is. The artwork gave me a headace and the dialogue was embarrassing

when was the series done in? since I find most pre-90s artwork to be pretty atrocious.

Considering you managed to get the name wrong every time you used it I'm going to rate your opinion as 'stupid' and not let it have an effect on my own dislike of CrisisOnInfiniteEarths.

One other thing, I've never met someone who sang the praises of COIE in any way shape or form.

Most everyone i have asked about the series claims it to be a must read. Even, browsing other comic forums and review sites. It seems to be held as highly as kingdom come

Are you sure people weren't recommending Infinite Crisis?

I wouldn't say that IC was anything epic, either, but it'd be a little more understandable why people'd recommend you read that to get 'up to date' with mainstream DC.

well COIE is no Watchmen, but i didnt think it was so bad, in fact my only complaint was that it was a long read...but hey to each is own

I have, a few actually which is what brought me to buy the TPB. I guess our standards these days are too high for it to be good. The story itself was meant to streamline their universe but here they are again messing with it again. I call it now, there will be a "New Crisis" in 10 years or so.

DC has several good minis under his belt, he published marvelous epic stories such as the Compleat Moonshadow and others that really put Marvel into shame.

Everyone has sucky writers from time to time (Our world's at war, Onslaught Saga) but its not a general trait of any comic company.

from a sheerly objective POV the only major issue I find with DC these days is that the universe is gonna potentially end every summer...while at marvel its either gonna be putting the xmen thru the wringer, have trusted long standing characters betray their team....only to have it revealed that they didnt have a choice for whatver reason. have person,persons, or super hero teams battle serious personal demons(revealing dramatic secrets and all that). and my personal fave... have wolverine go on a personal conquest to do something only he can do...all by himslef.....without backup....cuz he is the best at what he does after all.

as for overall shitty writin i dont see that too much with marvel/DC, just a few isolated incidents here and there. although those responsible for countdown, brave and bold,blue beetle, and spiderman since the "other" make it hard for me to defend them, but still

I just finished with Infinite Crisis 2005 and it was great. Then I followed it up with Sinestro Corps War and it was also great.

As for Crisis on Infinite Earths....meh, the art looks like crap and may pass it up.

superboy prime was just looking for the perfect earth, earth prime. basically, he wants to get rid of anybody unworthy of his earth cause he's making a new one since he can't find the real earth prime. that's why he went and tore conner up. conner just gave up on being superboy, and SB prime deemed him unworthy and killed him off.

its a must read not because its a masterpiece, but because it explains what all these alternate earths are about and so on...

to have anything approaching a comprehensive knowledge of the dc-verse, coie is a must read...

and for the record, i hate perez... bar one issue of brave and bold, but besides that...
