Based on the story by F. Scott Fitzgerald. It stars Brad Pitt who plays a man who is born 80-years old and ages backwards. I think the most amazing thing about this is it's directed by David Fincher. This doesn't seem like his kind of movie. I'm very interested to see how this turns out.

The books one of my favourites and I'm pretty stoked Brad Pitt is attached - David Fincher though? We'll see.

BruceSkywalker
Brad Pitt is in this. I was on the Sony lot when this was being filmed. I 'll see it.

MildPossession
Moi has been looking forwards to this for a long time.

ScarletSpeed
Yeah I saw stuff on IMDB about it a while back...cant waitsmile

SnakeEyes
Title is *Button by the way.

Anyway yeah, been looking forward to this for quite some time as well. The whole "aging backwards" concept is cool to me. Not to mention I like David Fincher and Brad Pitt a lot.

celestialdemon
The preview is being shown before the new Indiana Jones movie. It looks fantastic!

ragesRemorse
Pitt and fincher, sounds like a winner to me. The trailer looks very enticing.

SnakeEyes
I've read the short story recently and I'm not sure how well this'll translate to film, but I still have high hopes.

ariwin
Anybody else really looking forward to this movie?

I think Fincher is on a roll, and honestly when it comes to working with Brad Pitt, he can't go wrong. The trailer looks phenomenal besides, and I would be completely and utterly shocked if this didn't end up a major contender for Best Picture, plus a half-dozen technical awards at least.

I'm really excited for this movie too. There's already a thread on it here though:http://www.killermovies.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=482191&highlight=curious+case+forumid%3A2

These should be merged probably and the title for the existing thread should be corrected.

Mr Parker
sounds interesting, well have to see it.

Impediment
Merged.

I can't wait to watch this movie in reverse.

If the porn industry hasn't make a knockoff version of this movie titled "The Bi-Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons", I call rights.

Movie looks to have potential though, I'll be watching it.

I agree though. This looks awesome. I'm so there. big grin

Oscar watchers are calling it Best Picture already based on early screens of the completed movie... too excited, I am. wink

Ahhhh, this movie looks so good....

BlazingBarrells
Fincher flick. I'm in. Period. He can do no wrong in my book. I dont like to count Ali3n in his filmography due to all of the controversy between him and the studios at the time, not a good flick, but it was definitely Fincher. I'm in. Looks great.

Prime#
I saw this at a preview screening and let me just say it was amazing. The acting was incredible. Fincher is a genius. It may seem a little long but its really worth it

WrathfulDwarf
I wasn't really fond of the book. Might skip it....but I do love The Great Gatsby (both the book and the film)

Prime#
Its actually fairly different then the original story. I would definitly recommend it

Mr Parker
saw the commercials for it the other night on tv.looking forward to it.looks good.

Just got done seeing this; I liked it. Brad Pitt gives a strong, but subtle performance and this movie had some of the most gorgeous cinematography I've seen. It's a bit on the long side, but I didn't mind. Superb direction and solid screenplay. I'll have to let the movie sink in before I give it a rating or anything.

i really need to see this movie but how long is it actually?

SnakeEyes
2 hours and 48 minutes.

ragesRemorse
This movie is exhausting but in a good way. You will definitely leave the cinema feeling fulfilled after watching this movie. I felt as though i just ate a steak dinner. It also summons a slew of emotions and Pitt does give a fine performance. Like Snake Eyes mentioned, the cinematography in this film is stunning and is probably the best aspect and most stand out character of the movie. That is saying a lot because the acting and the writing is top notch.

I saw it last night and it was magical. Everything about it was perfect, it lands my best picture of the year award. The previews felt longer than the movie did. Oh, and Cate Blanchett has to be one of the most beautiful people in the entire world.

K-Dog
Very good movie, long but kept my attention with lots of neat characters that kept getting introduced as you follow a man through his whole lifetime.

Selphie
Saw this today, loved it

make sure you use the bathroom before going, you won't want to miss a minute, and it's about 3 hours long

I was really surprised how young they made Pitt look, when he saw Daisy and his daughter for the, I guess you could say, last time. It was quite obvious how they made him look older, but to make him younger, impressive, imo.

FistOfThe North
just got outta benjamin button.

it's oscar caliber. it might get nominated for best supporting actress, best make up and best cinematography.

it had a very slow moving and sorta homey feel to it. I just found it to be depressing as hell. I found the story truly bizzare and darkly humerous as far as ben button's biological clock went, especially towards the end. a couple of people sitting behind us, whom were seniors citizens we're basically whispering "wtf?" while chuckling. and others kept asking if that was indeed brad pitt when he was 7 in that wheelchair.

it looks like it definetely left people curious about the case of benjamin button.

though a bit on the long side, nonetheless, it was made well in that it was satifyingly consistant and it did a good job of having most of the characters grow on you.

7/10

I give it a 7/10.

it was bit on the long side.

SnakeEyes
Am I the only one bugged by the thread's title? embarrasment

I saw this movie the other day. I really enjoyed it, however it was not as great as I expected. It's been getting a lot of Oscar buzz, and I think it can get a lot of nominations but when it comes to closing the deal and picking up a win, I think it will disappoint, winning an Oscar in maybe Make-up, Visual Effects, and Adapted Screenplay.

Good film though.

Altar[1stONE]
The movie that put cotton balls in Cate blanchetts mouth, and made brad pitt look like an alien.

Walker.I
I forgot to say that when it ended it got like a five minute standing ovation from the audience I was with.

RedAlertv2
I enjoyed this movie immensely. One of the rare films where I actually feel like it was worth the price of a theater ticket.

stoobear
Magical is a nice word to describe it. This movie was completely captivating and heartfelt. The performances were incredible - I don't know any other actress with more presence than Cate Blanchett. Brad Pitt became Benjamin Button and was incredible. The cinematography was amazing. David Fincher is one of the best directors out there. I always check to see what kind of reviews it's getting by crititcs.

It has a 72% on Rottentomatoes which is alright- should be higher, a 69/100 on metacritic but audiences seem to love it so far-
---it's has 100% score on Crazy Critics so don't trust the critics on this one- it's great!

Does anyone know if CGI or facial mapping was used for Pitts face in Buttons earlier years?

Yeah, something like that, they just used actors who were physically plausible.

krisha1
Great movie Brad Pitts acting was great, sorta reminded me about Forrest Gump how it's about his whole life and the girl he likes.

Howard Beale
A terrific film in every way. Beautiful narrative, wonderful story, terrific acting, excellent writing, and don't get me started on the directing, some of the best I've ever seen. The movie was a touch disappointing, since it was too long, although i didn't really mind, and a bit too detailed as far as Ben's life. Also it was a bit underwhelming in dissecting the romance. Despite these minor flaws it was marvelous.

Mr Parker
Finally saw this movie.it was alright, nothing great.Kinda boring. Not near as good as I thought it would be.I think it was overhyped.

I disagree. I definitely didn't find it boring. Sure, it was slow, but it was showing the whole life of the character. I found the whole thing very enjoyable throughout...

Also, the ending was the closest I've come to crying in a film for a long time...
