I'm actually kinda scared for Nightwing now. Given that something big is going to happen to Batman, possibly death, I think they're gonna give him the Flash treatment. IE: Make the remaining part of his life a living hell. In Barry Allen's case, that wasn't intentional, he just happened to get the ax.

But for Batman.......can you think of a bigger blow than the death of his successor?

Plus, there's going to be alot of resurrections in Blackest Night.

Superman Prime is first on the list.

As much as I do love Bruce, I am incredibly interested in the idea of DC's name sake and center piece finally being let go. The idea of Dick finally realizing its time for him to become what he's always been trained and meant to be while still trying to maintain his own identity and individuality as Nightwing. While he watches as Tim actually journeys farther into the darkness and into one day taking on the Batman title itself while Nightwing is still the head of this future Batfamily.

Somebody else being Batman = fail.

If it were anyone but Dick Grayson, I could agree. But I consider Nightwing the only person truly able to succeed Bruce Wayne as Batman.

But sometimes no one cares enough about the character to ever bring them back. Connor Kent? Black Giant (the dude who died in CW...I can't remember his name)? All the New Gods but Darkseid? See. It can be done....they just can't kill anyone important or it'll be retconned in about 2-3 years.

Conner will be back. So will the New Gods.

Fact is, any character big enough to be THE death for a Crisis story probably has a fanboy writer somewhere with a plan to bring him/her back.

Morrison said Batman will be broken in a different way to a literal death. I'm thinking maybe all his fortune and estate lost, or all his family?

Also Morrison said the reveal of the super secret mastermind behind it all will be the biggest shock in 70 years. I reckon the only reveal that could be sooo changing to Bruce's history is that the mastermind is someone like Thomas Wayne or Alfred Pennyworth......

....though I'm still partial to my prediction that the Fifth World is Eternia, and He-Man, Skeletor, and the gang will be members of DC. That planet at the end of DotNG's actually looked scarily similar to it, so I'm sticking to it.

Batwoman should die- her character is uninteresting and unnecessary. The Bat-family is big enough already.
Lightning from JSA- The team is getting too big and DC is trying too hard to include members that resemble characters from Kingdom Come.
Cyclone- Same reason as Lighting from JSA. Uninteresting.
Neon (the Rays father)- He had his time as a hero, it is his sons time too shine.
Wonder girl or Donna Troy- Dc has too many "hand-me-down" characters as it is.
Mr. America- His character is useless. A man with a whip. Why not put Indiana Jones on the team.
