Any idea when the new season will begin? I couldnt find even a trailer ...

miss08
I have no idea when the next season starts. confused I really would like to know though if you find anything out! Do you know how many season's that Smallville will have?

JeRo
I far as I know 8th will be the last one ... I hope they`ll make it wirthy, not like 7th >.>

Mr Parker
I sure hope that those rumors are true that this will finally be the last season.the show really sucks now,put it out of its misery already. Its been a horrible show since the end of the fourth season.

JeRo
well...imo the producers fcked up the show when they decided to make it grow up along with the comunity. I think that till 6th season it was kinda worthy ... after it theres no single moment in all the episodes i can remember with something good. Its sad that the show will end this way,but I guess all of us prefer it than continuin` with this crap

HueyFreeman
This show was already going downhill fast on season 5. Its a running travesty now. Bad story, bad character development , bad effects. Its sad when the main character has learned practically nothing from his journey since the beginning.

@st
Agreed, the only really engaging aspect of the show has been Lex, and now he is gone. I will still finish the show, I watched 7 years im gonna go ahead and watch one more, but the show has fallen so far in the last couple seasons.

No matter how bad things are now, and how bad they will probably get, every Smallville fan wants to see that last shot, whatever they choose to show with it.

+1

Well ... the only thing that drives me crazy and I cant get use to is that they made Clark such an emo kitten ... whats the use of seein him, the "god among men", cryin in every episode like a fckin teen girl . And the fact that he still cant fly ... thats just so retarded ... who wont have the will to learn to fly if he`s supposed to be able to lol

@st
I cant stand it, they constantly have characters pounding into his head that he needs to be a hero, Ollie, Chloe, even friggin Lana tells him. Its just pathetic the way Clark is written on this show.

JeRo
Agree ... I hope that they`ll make the next season worthy, cuz when the show ends i don't want to sorry for watchin this show. It had such a great potential, but dunno what happened to the writers. When I think about it,all of my favourite moments were when we still had "freak of the week"

Keith in Delaware: Is Smallville going to suck without Michael Rosenbaum this season? I know the answer, I think, but am hoping there is some kind of salvation.

Actually, I'm hearing some very cool things about the new season. The writers are going into more of the Metropolis/Lois-and-Clark storyline and moving away from Smallville. Clark is going to work at the Daily Planet, and with Green Arrow (Justin Hartley) coming back, you can bet your sweet booty that more members of the Justice League will be popping up again. Sounds good, yes? No? Comment below...

ALLISON MACK TALKS SMALLVILLE
Posted on June 24, 2008 by erikab1123

Allison Mack, who is returning as Chloe Sullivan for Season 8 of The CW’s Smallville, said she is looking forward to the new-look season.

“I think we’re going to have the opportunity to add some really awesome new characters that we’ve never seen before,” Mack said earlier this week during a question-and-answer at the Superman Celebration in Metropolis, Ill. “We’re going to explore a lot of things that are a little darker than we’ve ever seen before on the show.”

Mack said she wants Chloe to understand her powers.

“You’ll definitely see my powers develop in Season 8, absolutely,” she said. “There’s so many questions that have been unanswered as far what the powers are, how they work and how I can control them. So I think you’ll start to see me really harness them and understand exactly what I can do, which I think will be really cool.”

Mack said production of Season 8 begins next month in Vancouver.

---------------------

UPDATED 6/25/08: The new season begins several months after the events of the Season 7 finale.
- Casting is currently underway for "Kat," a young, eager assistant for Tess, who also makes her first appearance in this episode; and "Nikolai," a man who works on a boat with Clark near the Arctic. Roles also now being cast include a Researcher, a Scientist, and a Guard.
- Clark is brought home by some possibly-surprising rescuers.
- Oliver Queen (Justin Hartley) returns in this episode.
UPDATED 6/27/08: The "Researcher," "Scientist," and "Guard" roles are involved with Chloe's storyline.
- When Clark returns to Metropolis, he'll have a big surprise for Lois.

They always pump up things like that, and in the end we get the same old s*it. They said that they are gonna introduce new JL members last season wtf !!!??? I'm skeptical a lot about this season, i agree about Doomsday thing why are they gonna bring it in the show, he kills Superman, and Clark wont be seen in the costume, and why is he looking like a human, he should be some ugly ass humongous monster that is destroying everything on his path, not a paramedic or a waiter. One more thing, few months back i saw some rumors that maybe and i say maybe they are thinking about the 9th season, they should wrap this up while they still have viewers. All in all maybe i'm wrong, maybe this will turn out to be one of the best season, but what are the chances that that happens smile

JeRo
Well ... we can only hope and w8 some more fckin months ... I`m kinda gettin pissed off w8ing >.>

Smallville Justice League return news - Today's News: Our Take | TVGuide.com

Get ready for the return of the Justice League. When Smallville comes back in September, the Super Friends reunite to search for Clark Kent, who went missing in May's season finale after tussling with Lex Luthor at the Fortress of Solitude.

Smallville creators Al Gough and Miles Millar have departed (and are currently producing the Hannah Montana movie), so four of the series' longtime producers have taken over for Season 8. "Luckily voices are still talking to us in our heads as we're breaking stories," says Kelly Souders, who is running the show with Brian Peterson, Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer. "Their visions come to us all the time, so I think they did a great job of preparing us for this day."

One of the first things the new quartet did was lock in Justin Hartley for at least 12 episodes as Green Arrow/Oliver Queen, a fan favorite who appeared frequently in Season 6 and once last season. He'll start this new chapter by gathering Aquaman and Black Canary to rescue Clark. Alan Ritchson and Alaina Huffman will reprise their roles, as will Phil Morris, whose Martian Manhunter also appears in the opener, titled "Odyssey."

This season's theme is "double identities," Souders says. "It's about the Superman identity emerging as Clark Kent tries to maintain a normal life — or the appearance of a normal life." To that end, he takes a job at the Daily Planet, right across the desk from Lois Lane (Erica Durance).

"The camaraderie as they work side-by-side that everyone loves from the DC Comics and all the Superman lore is going to come to fruition this year," Souders says. "The two of them are thrown together in some unfortunate situations for Clark. She becomes a little bit of an obstacle to him saving the world, when he's on a deadline." — Rich Sands

looks like a cool season..JLA with daily planet clois

Here are some news from K-Site:
TV Guide has answered several of the questions about who might be saving Clark, and some new tidbits:
- Clark's rescuers will be none other than the Justice League. Expect to see not only Justin Hartley as the Green Arrow; Alan Ritchson will be returning as Aquaman, Alaina Huffman is back as the Black Canary, and Phil Morris makes his return as John Jones, the Martian Manhunter.
- The magazine also reveals what Clark's surprise is for Lois: He's taking the job at the Daily Planet, right acros from her desk. "This season's theme is 'double identities'," executive producer Kelly Souders told TV Guide. "It's about the Superman identity emerging as Clark Kent tries to maintain a normal life — or the appearance of a normal life."
- "The cameraderie as they work side-by-side that everyone loves from the DC Comics and all the Superman lore is going to come to fruition this year," Souders continues. "The two of them are thrown together in some unfortunate situations for Clark. She becomes a little bit of an obstacle to him saving the world, when he's on a deadline."

Any scoop on when Kristin Kreuk will be returning to Smallville? — Ian
Ausiello: Would you believe sweeps? Shocking, I know. According to exec producer Brian Wayne Peterson, who I cornered at The CW's press tour party last week, Kreuk's five-episode stint as Lana will kick off in early November. "She'll come back at a very inopportune time for Clark," he hints. In the meantime, while Ms. Lang's off "giving Clark some space," the man who would be Super will be growing closer to Lois. "They'll be working together this year at Daily Planet," Peterson says, "and some friction is going to come out of that." Not to mention several winks to classic Superman lore — beginning in the season premiere. Teases Peterson: "There might be a phone booth moment between the two of them."

Now that Al Gough and Miles Millar are gone from Smallville, will the new show-runners amend their "No flights, no tights" policy? — Jeremy
Ausiello: Um… hell, yeah! "We are respecting everything that Al and Miles have set up," offers Peterson, choosing his words carefully. "All I'll say is we can definitely guarantee that there are no tights."

Any other scoop about Smallville? — Patricia
Ausiello: Obviously, I wasn't going to cut Peterson lose without asking him about Smallville's most celebrated non-couple, Clark and Chloe. "We definitely touch on ," he says. Adds fellow EP Todd Slavkin: "They've been best friends for a long time, and Clark would never get in the way of her pursuing her happiness. But oftentimes, feelings have a way of creeping in. That's all we'll say." Um, you've said more than enough, my friend. More than enough!

From TV Guide:

Smallville Exclusive: A Kiss Before Flying?

This season on the CW's Smallville, Clark will go to work at the "Daily Planet," where he'll bump desks with Lois Lane. The predestined set-up understandably has some fans already lobbying for a lip-lock.

Well, there's one coming.

Sources whisper to me that in this season's fifth episode, titled "Committed," Clark and Lois will be "forced" to make like lovebirds as they investigate some strange goings-on involving a crazy guy and a Moment of Truth-esque lie detector "game." It is in the course of this bit of harrowing, shoe-leather reporting that the "Daily" duo find themselves engaged in a smooch.

How real is their clinch? You'll have to wait and see and fiercely debate decide for yourselves. After all, let's not forget that these two have macked on each other before — namely, once when Lo mistook CK for the Green Arrow, and again when she was under the influence of that drugged lipstick.

But perhaps the third time is the charm?

Oh, and the "flying" reference in my headline? That simply sounded good. There's no word yet on when the longstanding "No Flights" policy will be rendered obsolete by the series' new regime. — Matt Mitovich

i'm really excited for clois investigations!!

hermione7
As for Clark’s future wife, viewers will soon get the chance to see the two of them in a setting that comic book fans will be more familiar with. “The dynamic of Clark and Lois at the Daily Planet when the dailies are coming in is fantastic,” Peterson explained. “It is iconic, it is exactly what those two actors feel like they were meant to do. I mean they are just great together and watching Clark and Lois together in the way that we're used to seeing them, from everything that we remember I think is making a really fun show this year.”

With such a strong dynamic between Lois and Clark, fans might get a little bit more of Lois then the thirteen episodes actress Erica Durance is contracted for. “We have an option to do more,” Peterson said. “What is great is that she is really present in all the episodes so far, she's just front and center and is doing a great job. So yes, there is an opportunity for more.”

A rumor that has floated about was the possibility of crossing “Smallville” over with another CW show, “Supernatural.” “It was talked about in previous seasons so it is within the realm of possibility,” Peter said.

“We never cross anything out,” Soulder added, however, “we haven’t talked about it in these first two months we've been hitting the ground running on season eight.”

General:

Executive Producer Darren Swimmer has revealed to E! Online's Kristin Dos Santos that there might be some romantic sparks between Clark and Tess later in the season. "Tess is definitely interested in him—and who wouldn't be?" Swimmer said. Swimmer also declared himself to be a fan of the actress playing Tess: "Cassidy Freeman is also doing an incredible job. Nobody could fill Michael Rosenbaum's shoes completely, but she's carrying the mantle as best as I can imagine anybody doing it."
- Kristin's interview also reveals that Laura Vandervoort will be in "either episode #8 or #9," and that there are talks to incorporate Darkseid. The interview also revealed that there will be no Michael Rosenbaum at all in Season 8 - though we're seriously hoping that's a misquote.
- Lana will now be back "right in the middle of the season" which may confirm our rumor.
- Before posting her Swimmer interview, Dos Santos revealed this tidbit about something else that's coming in the future: "There will definitely be a Chloe-Jimmy wedding, but that it does not go according to plan. In fact, I'm pretty sure it's going to be a bloody mess," she says.
- Kristin Dos Santos' rival at Entertainment Weekly, Michael Ausiello, reveals that apparently Lois will declare her love for Clark at some point in the first seven episodes.

Epi 7 "Identity":

Darren Swimmer tells E! Online's Kristin Dos Santos: "There's an episode where Jimmy will think he sees something and starts connecting it to Clark, and Clark has to dig himself out of it. That starts Clark thinking that maybe it would be wise to have a secret identity. He starts embracing the idea that there's someone out there saving people. He's not denying that completely anymore, he's just not ready to tell anyone it's him. And that makes this year very exciting for us."
- Sam Witwer (Davis Bloome) is not in this episode, but all of the other series regulars will be present.
- Casting notices have gone out for the role of this episode's bad guy, "Sebastian." They're also looking for a Mugger.

Epi No. 4 "Instinct"

From E! Online's interview with Darren Swimmer: "Maxima is the intergalactic goddess who needs to mate, and humans just don't fill the bill. The way that we portray her, one of her powers is skill at making herself irresistible to the men who come upon her—and Clark will not be immune to that. There's going to be one episode, but we're hoping to do more than one. Charlotte Sullivan is the actress we cast, and she did a really great job, she's really interesting."
- Although Lois is offered her old room back, Swimmer told E! that she and Clark will not be living together - for now.

Epi No 3 "Toxic"

Executive Producer Darren Swimmer has said in an interview at E! Online that "Chloe and Clark work together to save ."

08/28 - If you were so inclined, you could probably blame Jimmy Olsen for the cape, tights and giant S thing. According to Swimmer, "There's an episode where Jimmy will think he sees something and starts connecting it to Clark, and Clark has to dig himself out of it. That starts Clark thinking that maybe it would be wise to have a secret identity. He starts embracing the idea that there's someone out there saving people. He's not denying that completely anymore, he's just not ready to tell anyone it's him. And that makes this year very exciting for us." No telling yet if there's actually going to be a costume, but the Superman brand is definitely in development..

Episode 8.10: Legion
Airdate: November 2008
8/28 - Swimmer confirmed an appearance by the Legion of Superheroes (not to be confused with the Justice League, although Swimmer also said they would love to have a storyline for Justice Leaguer Wonder Woman on the show). Regarding the Legion: "It's three superheroes, Saturn Girl, Cosmic Boy and Lightning Lad-although we might not use those names-on a mission from Superman in the future, who sends them back to help make things right."
