Lara
Ok now I'm being serious! messed

I boyfriend said I going grey a few months ago and I thought he was just messing with me, and thought nothing more of it......

...UNTIL LAST NIGHT!!!!!!!!!

I was flicking my hair round in the the mirror, as you do and to my absolute horror I found a rather noticable sliver streak along my left temple.

Now I'm having a major dilema sad

I'm a natural dusty-redish blonde and I get white streaks in the summer when the sun bleaches out my hair (which is not the case with the streak I found! its definately silver/gray!) I dont know wether to leave it as it is and grow old gracefully at 21!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! or dye it come the end of the summer?

theres no point dying it now as it will just bleach out.

Please, help!!!!!!! cry

Strangelove
my hairline is receding at 20. srug

i have grey hair around the side and back of my head and bald on top at 16. srug

Schecter

If this is the other option, I would stick with the gray.

And to answer your question, you're going to turn gray anyway, so why not go ahead get the trauma out of your life and move on? I promise, your friends aren't going to abandon you, your family isn't going to disown you, and you're not a Supermodel or actress, so there should really be no big deal.

As for you, well...what ever! Women who go GREY prematurely tend to find it more traumatic than men, as women are more commonly judged on their appearance than men. :P

Deano
its no problem. just dye it

gefallen_engel
I am 26 I found a grey hair on the top of my head, I just pulled it out

Actually not really.

It has barely anything to do with gender, it's mostly genes.

I'm alot like my Dad's side of the family and his sisters started going gray really early and I imagine I will begin going gray in my early 20's as well.

Lara
My mum didnt start going grey til her late 30's and my grandma is 72 and still has some of her natural colour! But genetics dont really apply to me cause my mum was adopted and we dont know the family history for her biological mother. and I dont have anything to do with my fathers side of the family, just a bunch of wasters.

No, she means it is different emotionally for men than it is for women, as they are less judged on their general appearance.

That's when mine started to recede too, it's evened out though and stopped receding (for now).

Bicnarok
a pal of mine was totally grey at 21, he had a really full head of hair, thick growth. Had to shave 3 times a day as well, but his beard was black. There was a line where the black beard ended and the grey started well wierd , it looked well cool when he had a sun tan though.

You can dye your hair. You can also pluck the grey out.

Selphie
I had my first grey hair at 14....... ain't a big deal, it happens.

The funny thing is, I only get grey in that one strand, so I'll see it every once in a while, but it hasn't seemed to get grey anywhere else.

I don't think you HAVE to dye it. If you have a couple grey hairs, no one's gonna notice, unless they do a whole scalp check on ya.

If I ever get a bald spot I won't really notice since I like my hair buzzed anyways.

Rogue Jedi
genetics, I suppose.

Strangelove
mine seems to have stopped doing it, but yeah, it was slowly creeping back at 18.

I read somewhere that men tend to take after the men on their mother's side when it comes to hair. If that's true, I can looking forward to keeping my hair until at least 55

Lara
nah at the end of the summer I'm gonna dye it purple, no point doing it now the sun will just bleach it out to a funny pinkish shade, that and I'll be more prone to heat stroke messed that happened last time, no fun at all.

I'll face the grey when I'm ready to face old age. i feel about 45 anyways maybe my body is a little confused with its actual age and it psychological age. I dunno all I know is that I'm not ready for grey.

however the fun will be when I wanna lose the dye laughing out loud

I stripped the purple out and my hair went quite literally Fith Element ORANGE, that was fun and then it calmed down a bit and went some really cool firey shades.

you wouldnt even get that from a custom dye job laughing

*=DeathReaperr'
i have a few gray hairs and im 19 erm

You don't go grey from masturbation.

You go blind.

Lara
laughing funny but no physical sicentific evidence

Rogue Jedi
Genetics.

Lara
well they say that men who start balding early have rather high levels of testosterone. Greying though! *shruggs* not a clue. I blame stress laughing out loud

Rogue Jedi
Indeed, stress will make you look like a cue ball.

Leo.M
I'm 19.

My mom found 2 gray hairs on me last year. It was my senior year. She thought it was cause of the stress. And believe me i was stressed out. Haven't seen gray hair on me since.

Rogue Jedi
