2. Since all I know about the Chinese culture is from films I don't think I can answer that correctly. Also, hey are mostly martial art flicks. But I suppose they do bear resemblence to the actual period in some ways.

4. I must say I don't really think too much about China when watching a film like Hero. I guess I enjoy the exoticness of the situations and places and people in such films though.
