There've been a lot of respect threads that have brought forth some of the characters's greatest feats. So i thought for a change to turn the car upside down, to show the other side of the coin.

This is thread is as serious as any other resepct thread, with no intention to cause any offence, which it shouldn't since all the feats presented are featured in the comics as well. Any flaming, spamming or trolling will be reported immediately.

Comments are restricted to posted evidence (in form of references or scans) and compliments for the work of the thread. Debates and speculation may not be a part of this thread, if you're unsatisfied with evidence feel free to post contradicting evidence. Do not however start debating and turn this thread into a 100 paged long discussion, this thread is mainly made for the purpose of easy access to evidence for debaters, as well as to inform the members of what actually been confirmed on panel rather than claimed by misguiding sources.

Again, I've brought up this debate in multiple threads which has been closed due to as a result of flaming, I would appreciate if this stayed open. Not just to make this argument easier to access, but also to show that disrespect threads can be well done.

There's no scan manipulation or any of that sort, which could be said for some respect threads. Which, again, should make this thread as creditable as any respect thread.

I don't see how this alternate view could cause any damage to anyone or anything. I mean there're expenses for most actions. even respect threads have small aspects of disrespect in them. The Juggernaut being humiliated by the Hulk, in the Hulk respect thread for instance.

It would also works as a spike in the wheel for fanboys, spreading flase rummors to misguiding sources.

That being said, I hope this thread could stay open.

All we get in the vs threads is foggy, questionable claims by the usual suspects,
or good ol' unsupported exaggerations mostly,
yet, these same usual suspects do their best to nitpick THOTI by trying to find loopholes.

Hmm.

I'll be honest and tell you I'll have a hard time keeping this open for a number of reasons. Foremost, it sets a precedent. The old Rhino one is years old and a clear joke, and kind of got grandfathered in. But if I allow this, I allow others. And even if this one doesn't devolve into flaming, others undoubtedly will. I also don't particularly like the idea of disrespect threads to begin with.

Let me propose a solution, thought it will likely require a bit of work on your part: other boards often have not respect threads but "capability" threads. I've always preferred the term because the focus is on what a character can and can't do, not on showing only the good and ignoring the bad. It's more accurate, less biased.

So my suggestion to you is to make a capability thread. Shown the Presence's good showings, what he CAN do, then show the limits of his power with these scans.

In the interim, I'll allow this on a trial basis. But if this or other threads become problematic, it'll get a swift axe, so I can't make promises.

Everybody deserves respect but Rhino, it should be in the rules.

Interesting, huh?

I would appreciate if you used thumbnails, instead of trying to ruin the thread with enormous pictures you've snatched from the Respect thread of the Great Evil Beast.

And he only shows Spectre heaven, as said in the text. And he only saw it as a "Shadow of a shadow of the true heaven." If the Beast was truley omnipotent as you suggested, he would be able to show him heaven in its full glory, no? Just a thought.

Maybe Geb didn't send him to true heaven because it knew he couldn't even handle a shadow and it would humble him?

I wonder why it is a shadow of a shadow of heaven? i think since spectre describes it as inexpressible, he might not be able to understand a true heaven?

Where are the scans of the Presence in the DCU? You may be "disrespecting" Vertigo's god, who is now Elaine, but is this supposed to be disrespecting DC's God?

As a follow-up to my earlier post, there have been numerous complaints, both in reports and PMs about this thread. Astner has also not made an attempt to acknowledge my words and work toward a compromise, since I made it fairly clear that to allow such a thread is to invite trouble, and it would be a small miracle for it to remain open for very long.
