Boooo!!!!! Throw that terrible towel in the ground.

Cheaters!

I think it's pretty clear that everyone did 'roids in the '70's.

Watch out, twenty years from now Gatorade will be the naughty substance. Any player who drank Gatorade from 2000-2020 will be considered a fraud!

On a side note, I was discussing a few things with a guy last night (he's a Pats fan). We decided that whoever is the Public Relations Director for the NFL must be pulling in 7 figures. They do a hell of a job making things go away, while incidents stain baseball and basketball players for the rest of their lives. Hell, just look at Shawne Merriman. Dude is using 'roids today and no one gives a damn!

Probably because if anyone raised questions about it, Merriman would just spear-tackle them and kill them.

Unless it's Maurice Jones-Drew. He can question all he wants. stick out tongue

Smasandian
****ing Patriot fans.

There like a disease now. There just as bad as Cowboys fan from the 90's.

Anyways,

Merriman would spear tackle to kill, but its a pretty easy thing to evade him. Just run at him and juke to the right. He misses every time.m

Indeed.

After they won their first Super Bowl, fans started coming out of the woodwork, then it got really bad when they won their second.

Football is the same as baseball.

This is surprising to people?

Mr Parker
yeah dont understand why that would be a surprise to anybody and so what if Bradshaw took them,I guarantee many people in the NFL have been doing it since then and are still doing it.Like the article said,Bradshaw wasnt the only one, many others were as well and they didnt know what they were doing.Bradshaw just got singled out cause he confessed so I dont see anything news worthy about this.

WD, you beat me to this. It really isn't at all surprising. They were an excellent team back then. Look forward to other 'roid users to come out.

WrathfulDwarf
Yeah, this could be the begining of many to come.

quanchi112
Yeah the Steelers cheated, now to me this depends on if they were the only team out there doing it. If there were no others or if there were a few its a huge advantage but in todays game it seems every team has has roids all over the place.

forumcrew
if you think roids made anyone a better QB your crazy. They might of helped recovery from injuries and in the weight room but thats about as far as they go, and I guarantee everyone was doing it.

DigiMark007
Needs context. Bradshaw used them to heal from injuries. Not regularly to bulk up. Hell, the Steelers linemen were built around speed and mobility, not brute size. Steroids would have hurt a lot of their versatility in run-blocking.

That article is basically trying to stir up a controversy where there is none. Shoddy reporting. At the end he mentions that teh Steelers from those team are dying off, too. It's off-topic, and just plain insulting to them. He's either got a bone to pick, or is just an ass.

Smasandian
But its a scandal!!!!

WrathfulDwarf
Well, the key words here are "heal" and "injuries". If the Steelers used them....why couldn't the other teams used them as well? Or better yet....why didn't they?

you honestly think they didnt?

Smasandian
There isn't a story about those teams, just the Steelers.

So obviously nobody else used steriods in the 70's.

I was talking to a few guys this morning and they were talking about athletes using Viagra before taking the field. They said no joke, that it increases your intensity level and that one day Viagra might be a banned substance in the NFL and other pro leagues.

Smasandian
I heard too.

botankus
They say call your doctor if you experience an erection lasting for more than four hours, so unless your game went into overtime, you might be able to keep it up for the entire game.

...makes me want to be a center.

no expression

Smasandian
Oh rude!!!!

I guess there's alot of cock to ass contact in the NFL nowadays.

Who knows? Maybe some did it while others didn't. The other subject would be why steroids and not pain killers? I'm going by today's standards on roids. Yes, back then some could have used it but in our times...its consider cheating.

Smasandian
Come on.

Are you just saying this because the Pats are being called cheaters.

They boost your strength, endurance, recovery time, etc. Sure they cant help you throw the ball any better but they make you as a personmore capable than without them. The reason they are illegal is because they give you a huge edge.

Now with all that being said I think a lot of players use them now. Back then who knows but now its not that big of a deal.

Sigh it is what it is. I hardly can even watch sports and care about integrity. No telling who's is walking on the field with a Game Genie.

Blax_Hydralisk
... who would want to play a game where you are tackled to the ground in tight spandex with an erection? Imagine landing on that shit wrong.
