Removing an Ink Tag?

Some idiot lady left the ink tag on when I went to JC Penney's today. I bought the shirt (didn't STEAL it), have the receipt and everything but JC Penney is about 40 minutes away from here and my Mom won't take me all the way back there to get it removed.

Does anyone know how to remove one without me having to wait until I go back to JC Penney's again?

I work in a clothing store and what the shop lifters do is put the garment with the tag in the freezer

then when the ink freezes, just break it off.

It's exactly like the above image so do I just twist and pull or what?

it should take a few hours to freeze

and I don't know about the american ones, but in our ones it is removed by magnet.

So, there's more than one way to do this, huh?

You should be able to freeze it, then force it open.

Phone them up, explain the situation and tell them that you expect to be reimbursed for your travel costs at the very least.

That's what I'd do. But, I have a car and don't have to convince my mother of anything.

Use public transport, or arranged for it to be sent at the expense of the shop.

why does it come as no surprise that we both know that

best scam i ever heard of at my old work though was a guy was coming into the store and taking padded envelopes from the post office (we have one as part of our supermarket) and then putting xbox 360 games into them and posting them to himself using the instore post box so he never went past the alarm detectors.....the postman then came and picked up the mail and set off the alarm as he was going out but by law you're not allowed to stop him or interfere with the mail
