Oh my Gog!

Once again Johns does it again! JSA and Johns is like the perfect peanut butter and jelly sandwhich.

Gog, the false messiah (in case you're wondering....I'm the False Messiah of KMC) mmm

Anywhoo....a possible plot hole with the events in FC. If Gog is the protector of superheroes....why didn't the JLA or the JSA had Gog resurrect the body of J'onn?

(I think I'm too smart) 313

Bringing back the dead Martian would have convince everyone that Gog means good.

But whatever...I'm looking forward to JSA Annual #1 Happy Dance

Raoul
this whole arc could just take place before final crisis...

Eel O'Brian
FC having a plot hole, FC not being in line with other stories?

Oh noez!

Look closely my good friend!

In Requiem Powergirl was present at J'onn funneral. So if the story of Gog happen before the FC. How then is Kara present at the funeral? When she was actually sent to Earth 2.

Hyooooo!!!!!! stick out tongue

Deathstroke
This new Gog is my hero. He's just so gosh darn nice how could you not like him?

He also has a creepy smile on his face most of the time which I find humorous.

Co-sign.

I wouldn't mind having Gog read me bedtime stories.

Agreed. I wish he could stick around in some capacity after this arc is over.

jumpmann
Assuming this takes before FC and PG could easily come back. Either way I never worry about continuity.

Gog is my favorite new character of the year so far. The last arc was pretty uneventful but two issues into this one shows why JSA has always been one of the better comics out there.

Stargirl!

Deathstroke
I also really hope that Starman goes back to being crazy.

llagrok
I'm still waiting on some of that Gog on statue of liberty porn we've been hearing about.

Disappear
thinking it over, i'm pretty sure the only reason i like this story is because it's gog. he's just so pleasant and he speaks so loudly, what's not to love? but, then again, isn't this looking like the same old story of "good intentions" going awry and "oh no, he's impeding on humanity's right to think and act for itself, which is so much more important than stopping people from killing eachother"? now the JS(/L)A will have to stop him, or teach him the error of his ways, or yadda yadda...

just keep that smiling lug around. stick him in san francisco, then have a marvel/dc crossover where he fights the dreaming celestial.

manjaro
what i dont get..especially if this happens b4 FC...why isnt somebody going... "gee Wilikers!" theres A New God on Earth who obviously came via another means other than the resizing Boom tube, there freaking acting like they've never seen self anointed gods b4....i like this guy straight off the bat but its gonna be the same ol same ol....."great power, great responsiblilty" thing...either he's gonna have to suffer a demeaning lecture about right and wrong and how humans need to forge thier own destiny, or just suffer a plain ol defeat

DigiMark007
Ever since Johns promised us an Alan/Gog showdown at the end of an issue (not the God, but the avatar dude before him) I've been slightly upset that we haven't seen a big-boy throwdown. But it's entertaining. And I dunno why people want it to tie into FC. Do we really need another crossover to potentially make it even more confusing? Keep it separate.

Endless Mike
Gog can bring people back to life now?

I agree. Having a schizophrenic character portrayed in a basically positive light was interesting to watch.

Raoul
anyone notice how the first thing damage did when he got back was seek out judomaster? oh yes...

WrathfulDwarf
mmm

I does happen during the time of FC. Infinity Man arrived to stop Matthews from resurrecting Gog. The events are tied...they're just not organize properly.....

lolz ...cool thread name

why is gog so big and purple , i thought he was the angry time traveller man?

Infinity Man=pre death of the gods/Final Crisis.

So that settles it.

llagrok
Gog reminds me of the Preacher-verse god.

WrathfulDwarf
Are you guys ready to worship Gog? shifty

Kneel you FOOLS! pray

guy222
good ending

gog or whoever he is will lose

That's not really a plot hole... if Gog was out to convince everybody, he would have already granted Cit. Steel his wish. Gog moves in mysterious ways, and there are a ton of things that he could have done by now...

"A possible plot hole: why doesn't Gog just end all evil?"

Besides, all of Gog's actions are shown in negative light, so there's clearly a twist to the whole situation anyways.

manjaro
pffftttt.....J'onn isnt dead anyway....its gonna be the same way that pre crisis superman "died" once...where he went to a planet where K-radiation mutated a plant and it absorbed its properties and on the brink of death he put himself in a coma so his body could heal...same here. i also found it strnge that he was burnt to a crisp yet he was fully intact in his coffin

Bada's Palin
You don't want to piss Gog off.

Raoul
i'm amazed that johns could just pick up the story and squeeze so much into one issue after making us wait so long...

Action-wise, perhaps. The issues preceding this were more character studies than anything, especially with a few traditionally-neglected characters like Damage and Citizen Steel, as well as the more popular KC Supes.

Galan007
I could care less what happens with Gog. What I'm really waiting to see is what happens to Jay (now that he's a being of pure speed force.) And also what goes on with KC Superman - because you know he's going to die.

guy222
prolly

I highly doubt he's staying.

DigiMark007
Did you see the cover for the upcoming JSA issue? It implies that Starman sends him elsewhere, presumably back to his universe.

yeah, tis what i meant... he'd been building up a showdown for so long...

Cavalier
I wanna find out what happens with all the team members that Gog just pwned... is Dr. Mid-Nite gonna be completely blind? It certainly implied in each case that Gog's work was worse than the original affliction.

Time for ANOTHER WD prediction!

KC Superman will be sent to Earth 2! See the JSA Annual #1! If Gog was capable of sending Powergirl to that universe. Most likely the same will be with KC Superman. After all, the original Superman from earth 2 died in IC.

Raoul
Really, really liked the finale. not much else to say. it was just a really, really good comic imo...

Indeed

Galan007
Such an epic conclusion..

One question though...

In the bottom panel of this scan... The old mage with the red robe standing in the middle... That's KC Supes, right?

Philosophía
Epic is the best word to describe it.

And yes, it is. Why?

Galan007
Because I was wondering who's funeral this was?

http://s1d3.turboimagehost.com/t/1146943_sm2.jpg

Bruce's?

Philosophía
Yes.

Vally Doosh
Clark seeing his younger, time traveled self was a cool touch.

Too bad Gog turned out to be a dick though.

Geoff Johns still sucks.

Tom Joad
the gog demanding worship was a copt out, it would have been better if it simply turned into "gog is god " v.s "He is not" with gog being ok with this. Now, it's almost cliche. It's just another false idol story. It would have been much better if Gog would have remained pure and nice, and people simply questioned his means of justice, as they were earlier in the arc, and develop on that.

I didn't really see it as a cop-out but more of a concrete logical twist....gods like to be worship and not all gods are technically doing a good thing. They like to be worship.

If you want to get philosophical (which is what Geoff was avoiding) gods aren't always doing favors without some sort of homage.

He sure burned KC Superman at the end.

Bruce's? Yeah if you look close enough you will see that the wood marking around the handle bars on the side form the bat symbol.

jumpmann
And the blue bench looked like Batman's allies. Dick, Ixzbzn Al Ghul or whatever his name is and his son looking like Damian. Barbara in the wheel chair. Clark closest to the casket. Selina crying under the veil (diamond bracelet).

Another question; was there any point to Jay becoming 'pure speed'? I don't really understand why the writers did that with him. confused

Nod to Kingdom Come Flash. I understood that much, but my question was... Why? I mean, Jay didn't do anything aside from look visually different. It just seemed pointless, and out of context, imo. Maybe it will be extrapolated on more in future issues. *shrugs*
