The battle take place in a dense, large forest during night time at summer. Wolverine is bloodlusted, Jean is tired after not having slept for a long time and Wolverine is the active "hunter" in the scenario.

Jean Grey outpower Wolverine for sure. Do however take in consideration that she lack sleep, it is the middle of the night, the forest is dense and Wolverine is the hunter. He has enhanced senses, he move swiftly, silently and can surely take her out in a single swipe. He is also a talented survivalist, handles terrain well and tracking is one of his many talents.
