In this scenerio "cis" and "in character" is thrown out the window ONLY FOR THE SURFER. So he is basically fighting like exiles surfer, no remorse. He was tricked and basically was told and convinced that the trio (Superman/ Wonderwoman/martian manhunter) was the reason behind the destruction of his planet. The memory was erased of who actually destroyed everything that he loved.
