Snafu the Great
This is a A.U. matchup. What if Shang Tsung was still alive? And what if Liu beat Eric Sloane in a match?
At a martial arts tournament in Hong Kong, kickboxing champion Eric Sloane has been defeated by former Shaolin Monk Liu Kang.
Meanwhile, in Thailand, the ever-scheming Shang Tsung, in an attempt go get rid of his rival, approaches the ruthless Muay Thai champion Tong Po and tells him about the current Mortal Kombat champion.
This catches Tong Po's interest and he sends a letter of challenge to Liu. Rayden sees this as one of Shang's schemes in an attempt to get Liu out of the picture, but Liu, with Sonya and Johnny in his corner travel to Thailand.
Instead of a sanctioned match, Tong Po is fighting in the 'ancient way,' (i.e., hands covered in hemp rope, dipped in resin and covered with broken glass). Liu is fighting barehanded.
Three rounds. And if Liu loses, Shang will take his soul.
