Da Joker
Which do you prefer? Personally, the Batpod wowed me more & was just amazing to see in action.
Mairuzu
Well the tumbler was used for the more... "realistic" version of Nolans batman
Darth Martin
I like them both but the Batbod was the my favorite scene in The Dark Knight so I guess it. I was thrilled to see how the 'Pod ejects out of the the Tumbler.
Da Joker
That was so badass, and how he brought down the Joker's truck. Just pure awesomeness.

pure awesomeness. Then when it exploded out of the building and the wheels turned "irregularly" and The Joker said "Now there's a Batman!" and then after he flipped the truck he went up and ramped the wall. Everyone was cheering at my IMAX showing.

Da Joker
Damn that was awesome. And the way the Joker got out of the truck was badassery as well. This whole movie is badass badass badassery.

Mairuzu
Woops, my mistake... i thought it said batmobile vs tumbler
The batpod was badass tho
Deathstroke
They're both so badass it's hard to choose. Hitting the garbage truck head on and smashing it into the ceiling was farkin sweet, but then everything with the Batpod was pure awesomeness also.
Darth Martin
Yea the garbage truck ramming was aweswome, and then how it kept it's current speed.
Mairuzu
I'll vote for the lambo haha
Darth Martin
That thing got smathed! That didn't happen to the Tumbler or Batpod.

That was exceptional exceptionary. That stunt was done once and they got it right.

Did you not see the movie lol? the tumbler got its ass beat
Myth
I say something more of a hybrid of the lamborgini and the tumbler. Closer to lamborgini size, but with the armor of the tumbler. I don't want a slick and smooth car, I want it rough looking like the tumbler. But making it smaller and then actually referring to it as the Batmobile would be great.
Edit: Oops, misread the title as Tumbler or Batmobile. Both were cool, but that thing he did with the Batpod vs the semi-truck was awesome.
The j0keR
They both had their moments in TDK, the tumbler jackknifing the dump truck was sick. Ill say Batpod though, because the semi flip was nearly iconic, I been trying since the trailer came out to figure out how they would explain that.
I loved that part...
"HE MISSED!".......................*flip*
Da Joker
I loved that entire scene, the Batpod was just badassery. MY GOD IT WAS SO ****ING SHITY GODDAMN AWESOME!
Darth Martin
My fav scene in the whole film.
SelinaAndBruce
Hate the Tumbler. I mean it worked well and served it's purpose as Batman's car but I was happy when it blew up I cheered and the Batpod was so freaking awesome. I definitely liked it a lot better
Da Joker
Wow, haven't met a lot of people who actually hated the tumbler. I thought it was the best vehicle Batman had yet...until the Batpod came along.

The Tumbler was actually a kind of polarizing change. Many Batman fans were hoping it wasn't gonna be Batman's permanent car. I wasn't the only one in the theater who cheered when that thing blew up, lol. I know there were some who liked it but there were also quite a few who didn't.

When I fisrt saw the tumbler, I hated it, but once I saw Begins I understand where it comes from and why it was used... kinda like an H2 ... and I ended up loving it
... but the bat-pod droolio
anyways...
BATPOD FTW!!!

It was the best vehicle he's had so far. And more importantly, it was the best vehicle he's had with a legitimate purpose behind it. A 25 foot revision of the typical batmobile would be far too hard to explain.
A lot of people flipped over that scene of the batpod crawling up the wall in TDK, but it was one of my least favorite scenes.
SelinaAndBruce
I like the Batpod crawling up the wall scene on one hand because it was bad ass, but on the other hand it seemed like it was there for no other reason but to be bad ass and I think it was one of the few kind of cheap action movie-ish type moments that the movie had so it was kind of cheesy on the other hand.

My feelings exactly.
Darth Martin
It was there for crowd enjoyment. That scene is ment to get an applause when you see it in the cinema. I liked it!
Da Joker
That scene was too badass for me to say it was cheesy.
Devil King
I'm glad you guys were pleased.
Da Joker
As am I. I'm so giddy that I can't wait to see it again!

That's focusing a lot of excitment on a throw away scene.
Da Joker
I meant I was excited to see the movie. It'd be uber retarded to see a movie just for one scene.
Devil King
That depends on which single scene you would go and see it for.
Da Joker
For me the whole movie is one giant awesome scene (of course not actually literally).

It WAS my least favorite part of the movie.
SelinaAndBruce
I can see why people didn't like that moment, lol. Definitely. It didn't bug me that much but it did take me out of the movie because it was the only thing that didn't really feel very serious and I didn't think it fit the tone of the film it was really there just for the purpose of being kick ass...
Myth
Yeah, it was too Schumacher-esque for me. A visual stunt for the sake of a visual stunt and nothing more.

I liked them both because they both have different capabilities.

They both sucked.
Da Joker
No, my friend, you suck.
Blax_Hydralisk
Not as much as the Tumbeler and Batpod.

Da Joker
They're more awesome than your existence!

Blax_Hydralisk
Only to a TDK fanboy. >.>
Da Joker
I'm not a fanboy, I was obviously joking. I guess someone with half a brain can't recognize that.
Blax_Hydralisk
So was I.
But I guess someone with half a brain couldn't recognize that, mainly because they'd be dead. You can't live with half of a brain.

How boring
Blax_Hydralisk
I'm a pretty boring guy, yeah. And in addition to my boring personality, I hate redundancy. Explaining why exactly I dislike both of them would be redundant, considering that I explain almost every time I say it.
Mairuzu
Then it clearly makes no sense for you to post period... if you aren't willing to explain.
Oh well.
Blax_Hydralisk
Why doesn't that make sense to you? People on this forum do it day in and day out. I'm sure you've done it as well on a topic.
Mairuzu
This thread is about choosing between the tumbler and batpod
if you dont like either why bother coming in there and posting it without explain why
Blax_Hydralisk
Because the thread asked which one I thought was better. I think they both suck equally... so really there should be a third option that says tie or something. But I'm curious, if I had come in here and said that I think they were both equally awesome, instead of crappy, would you have gotten on my case about it? Would you have told me that I should have posted why I thought they were both awesome?
Mairuzu
Personally i liked them both but i had to choose one, so i went with the batpod
Blax_Hydralisk
If I had to choose one of them it'd be the Tumbler, mainly because the Batpod looked ridiculous with those massive wheels.
SelinaAndBruce
The Batpod is awesome even with the massive wheels. The Tumbler is horrid IMO. It was good enough though but it was never a favorite of mine
Mairuzu
I liked those big wheels, and the fact that it came out of the tumbler
(so obviously i had to have big wheels)
then again i like motorcycles period
BruceSkywalker
I look forward to seeing more of the Batpod which I love. I also would mind if Btaman builds aniother Tumbler which I also love
Da Joker
If we get another batmobile, it doesn't need to be exactly like the Tumbler, it needs to be something totally new. By making a new batmobile, it'd be keeping up with tradition in the movies.
Darth Martin
Hope it doesn't look anything like the Burton/Smaucher films. Don't get me wrong Burton's Batmobile was aweswome and everything but we need something different for this series. Hopefully if it's new they should make it a little sleeker anmd faster but keeping the same general look as the Tumbler.
Myth
Not that it took away from the movie, but did anybody else notice that the Batpod had to be leaned to be steered? I don't think it had any way of steering with the handle bars.
Bat Dude
Didn't really like the Batpod much...
Didn't like the Tumbler that much, either...
But if I had to choose, it'd be the Tumbler, merely because it offers more shielding and protection from explosives, gunfire, and other dangers in general...
Da Joker
True, it does make Batman a bit more vulnerable, but it had cooler scenes for sure.
Robtard
Was looking at Tumbler pics on Google; happened to run into this. Dude has built a Tumbler in his garage and it runs.

Da Joker
Wow, that's amazing.
BruceSkywalker
Even though I love both the Tumbler and Batpod, most likely he will be using the Batpod in the next one, unless Batman feels the need to rebuild another Tumbler

It was implied that Wayne Ent. build two prototypes of the Tumbler in BB. So they can always fall back on that.
It also stands to reason that Batman would most certainly want/need a car, considering what he does, the Batpod isn't enough. I think they'll be making a new design for part 3, to keep things fresh and exciting.
Da Joker
They really should. Maybe something a little bigger than the Tumbler, more durable, and hella more badass.
ragesRemorse
I didnt mind the Batpod. It didn't impress me in the way that, im sure, the filmmakers were hoping, but it was handled fairly realistically. I will say though, where the Tumbler felt practical the batpod felt like an uninvited gimmick.
Da Joker
I thought both of them fit perfectly. Both wowed me.
Robtard

Bigger than a 5k pound, 9 foot wide and 15 foor long beast? More durable than something that smashes through cars, cars and dumptrucks?
Maybe Batman should just buy himself an Abrams tank and spraypaint a bat logo on it, certainly be bad-ass on the screen.
Da Joker
Well, by durable I mean it can take hits from a bazooka. And if it were made bigger, I want a totally different design...you should post a pic of what you were referring to.
Kinneary
Honestly, I thought that the Batpod was an absolutely HORRIBLE idea when I first heard about it, and I thought it was going to bring the movie way down. But the way they introduced it and carried it out, I thought it was an amazing addition to the franchise.
The way that Batman has been getting new suits/vehicles in the movies has been done very well. Actually showing why things have changed and why he has new equipment rather than just starting a movie with all new stuff.

Good words
Da Joker
Yeah, I had a similar feeling but mainly because I was so in love with the Tumbler. When I finally saw it in a wizard magazine I just geeked out and got so excited, and the same thing happened when I viewed the trailer. I'm anxious and scared to see what Nolan will do next...because I know it's gonna top the Batpod, and it's almost scary to fathom what it'll be.

I know Nolan will come up with something he hasn't come up with before.
Da Joker
He most certainly will and if the Batpod is any indication, it shall be rad.
