We're all devastated, he was such a good friend. The past couple of days have been pretty blurry, trying to concentrate on work and make sure his closest friends and family are ok. Only 9 months ago another good friend died in a car crash, how do you deal with this when it happens? I'm finding it really hard.

We're having a party to raise funds for his daughter, Ebony.

Bigon
hug sorry to read it. you were obviously a caring friend.

Syren
He was with us last Saturday, it's absolutely surreal. We spent so much time with him just chilling out and having a laugh and now he's gone. I can't get my head around it and my partner's much worse erm

guy222
my prayers are with his family and friends

Strangelove
cry Oh my god, I'm sorry Kerry.

Neo Darkhalen
my condolences to friends and family at this difficult time.

Syren
Thanks guys, it means a lot. Such a head spin though.

guy222
stay positive and all will be ok

Scythe
Sorry to hear that sweetheart, Death has a way to impact us, which is why I urge others not to fear for our own deaths. I am here for you Kerry, here to lend you my strength, I am terribly sorry for you loss and hope you get through this. You're not alone.

Rogue Jedi
Sorry, Sy. He sounded like a good man.

Syren
Thank you so much, he was one of a kind. He had a heart of gold. When we laid flowers down the beach where he died we all wrote on the breakwaters in chalk and a friend of mine wrote, "If only your brain was as big as your heart", which was spot on. Someone else left flowers and the message said, "Only something as enormous as the ocean could ever stop you." cry

ScarletSpeed
Sorry to hear, sadsad

Piggle Humsy
So sorry to hear about that, that's awful.
hug

Hope the pain will ease for you soon.

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. It looks and sounds like he was a cheery fellow.

Bardock42
I'm sorry, Kerry. It's sad how sudden life can end. I hope you will feel better in time.

Mairuzu
I'm sorry to hear. I hope you all get through it okay.

Syren
Thank you all so very much, it means so much.

They're going to do an autopsy soon and there will be further investigation because no one really knows why he didn't make it ashore.

Peach
Oh, wow, I'm so sorry sad

Last year a friend of mine died suddenly of cancer, it was so surreal, I had hung out with him only a month earlier and he was doing fine.

It's just one of those things you don't really expect to happen.

I'm sorry for your lost. My thoughts with you and the family of your friend.

I don't mean to sound rather negative. I know you're friends are doing this for a good cause. But throwing a party after the tragedy? Why not have car wash, BBQ, or a raffle? Just a thought.

Again, I'm sorry for your lost. sad

Thanks WD.

As for the party, it's what we do. Where we live we've always taken advantage of the beaches and beach parties are a regular occurrence here. Griff was always in attendance, without fail, and it seems like the best send off we can give him. Everyone seems to agree that it's what he'd be doing if he were still here yes

We'll be asking for donations, not charging people. So it's up to each individual what they decide to give.

Oh, and the beach party will be during the day and night so there will be a BBQ as well.

Rogue Jedi
My family does something similar, when someone passes, we have a huge festive dinner afterwards, it helps with the grieving. Like celebrating the life of our dearly departed.

Keep your head up, Sy.

BruceSkywalker
Sorry to hear Kerry. Everything will be fine. Have faith and stay positive

Thanks guys. He was a true raver, through and through, so a party seems like the perfect goodbye.

Bigon
So how are you doing today Syren?

chillybanana
Really sorry to hear that Kerry. Hope you're doing OK, and any friends and relatives are too.

Syren
Everyone's much the same, I've had the distraction of work but any free time we've had we've been down the beach where his tribute is. Got pics;

Scythe
I hope you're heading strong Syren.

Kosta
Sorry to hear that sad. I'd be lost without my 4 closest friends. Losing any of them would wreck me proper. Cant imagine what you're going through, but my heart goes out to you guys.

Syren
Thanks for the kind words, everyone hug

Da Joker
God rest his soul.

I hope you feel better.

Syren
We've obtained permission from the council for the party, I've filled out the byelaw forms and so on. I have sort of played down the numbers though ermm
