Came across this in a google search. Seemed out of the ordinary enough to share:

Apparently member and post-count totals are kept daily for KMC. I'd imagine other stats are covered, as well as stats for other discussion forums. I'm not sure yet though, because I only browsed the page I linked you to.
Anyway, peruse the site, share fun stats, compare/contrast forums, ignore it altogether, etc. etc.

Interesting. It seems the boards are most active around the starting of school and xmas vacation.

Why should you start learning these things?

Raz runs KMC. The layout is similar to the interface we use for sock checks, bans, and various other functions, so my guess is that it's affiliated with the makers of the vbulletin software that KMC and many other boards license in order to run their sites.
Also since the main forum page has a bunch of those stats listed at the bottom. There's got to be some reciprocal agreement there.

Probably just periods of time when no data was collected for whatever reason.

Perhaps. More likely is that other boards gained members and passed us up. We have ebbs and flows, but most sites reach certain plateaus for long periods of time. The highest one-day member total for us was in 06, for example, so we're not exorbitantly larger than we were.
