actualy www.trektoday.com reported that data will actualy be the one who gets killed! although it is not oficial news! by the by i would think it would make more sence that it be diana or riker or worf who gets killed but...
Myndon
When is it coming out in the UK??

also anyone know whats going to happen in it

Tex
I'm going to see it over the weekend, so I'll tell you then.
BackFire349
i agree, i hate star trek
Julie
I don't care for it....
Tex
Its not that bad.
I really enjoyed watching the Next Generation as a little kid.
Sure the movies have really sucked(First Contact the exception), but this one is supposed to be really good.
Catch 22
Enjoy Trek as much as I enjoy Star Wars, though it let itself down with Voyager IMHO.
Looking forward to Nemesis.
Ushgarak
Nemesis out about the 3rd January over here, I think. And I agreee with C22 very much, Voyager found itself in pants land after running out of inspiration very quickly but the rest of Trek is thoroughly watchable.
Thomas H
I hate star trek, it sucks!
Tex
Voyager was crappy, but 7of9 really made up for it *whistle*

Ushgarak
Oh yeah, and the Doc was funny, but that was about all there was. When one of the leads is quoted as saying "I'm so bored, kill me now! you know there is a problem.
steve-o
Never got into Star Trek. I grew up with loving Star Wars. My whole family was into Star Watrs (cousins, brothers etc), so naturally, I got into it. I tried watchin Star Trek, but it just doesnt do anything for me. Why watch Star Trek when there's Star Wars? Does Star Trek have Darth Maul or Jango Fett? I THINK NOT!
finti
THERE YOU GO
THIS IS WHAT WOULD BE MY BIBLE
Tex
I thought The National Enquirer was your bible Finti.
finti
They are equally full of crap
VampirePrincess
I love Star Trek... And Star Wars... However I most say from the prospctive of creativity Star Trek is better... Being that its a series and movies which are very successfull.... Plus Gene Rodenbury is a great man who created great work. Anyway the movie is great even if your not a Star Trek fan its worth watching. Great battle scenes and more ship attacks.
The last few Star Wars movie sucked compared to the orginals. Maybe thats me. *shrugs*
BackFire349
i think star trek is boring, i think star wars isnt, i like star wars better.
VampirePrincess
Thats great... Nemesis actually is not boring. I never thought it was boring. Actually its more interesting... The movie anyway.
BackFire349
i just never was able to watch star trek, i guess star wars spoiled me.
VampirePrincess
Possible... It seems like many people either like one or the other. I on the other hand like both. However I lean more towards Star Trek. Maybe because of my mom.
finti
Well I always felt Star Trek was and is lame
Myndon
Yes i agree some aspects in star trek suck, (especialy the first season of TNG) but it got better
Star Wars is great, i thinks they should make a sort of TV series out of it (although this may take the fun out of the films)
Anyway, its out on the 3rd
damm too long ah well if its good then i'll wait
Fitch
I always considered that TV series made after the movie, totaly suck.So I prefer not to see SW the Episodes

Myndon
I've seen Nemisis and it was brilliant
however they did something they will regret they killed of soemone

Ushgarak
Oh, the actor concerned had wanted out for ages. And it wasn't much good, really. You can post a review in the review thread if you wish.
finti
heard it struggle at the box office as well
Ushgarak
It had a good trailer, as well. Always a darn shame when that happens. It just seemed to be a lazy aggregate of ideas.
hayden's minx
personally to call yourself a science fiction fan you have to at least go through a phase of star trak its like the law i'm not a huge fane but i went through a phase and you can just about learn to stand it through havin one.
Scorehound
Star Wars, in its own right, is nothing more than a movie in which people fly ships and shoot at each other. What I think makes it so popular is its extremely deep story line. If it wasn't for the story and the mystery, I think Star Wars would have been a flop.
Star Trek, I think is more in depth scientifically than Star Wars. Star Trek has more substance than Star Wars, but on occasion has become repetative. Star Trek: Nemesis is a great film on its own, but as a Trek film has many people asking questions. It seems to have been written without much Trek history taken into effect. Such as Wesley's mysterious appearance at the wedding, the trouble with the Shinzon hisory, a Reman ship being built in secret that is more powerful than any Romulan ship, etc. A great film, but many errors.
finti
deep story linhe of Star Wars??????????????????
and Star Trek is synonymous with boring all but the two first movies went straight to videos here in Norway.
Ushgarak
No, Nemesis is NOT a great film on its own. It's a defilement of the even-numbered Trek franchise. It is badly paced, lazily done, and rather cheap. Still, at least the main villain was played well.
But yes, the Reman stuff was pretty silly from a Trek point of view. I really wanted this film to be the one that gave the Romulans a decent outing but they looked just as crappy as ever, and they give all the cool stuff to the bloody 'Remans'... pah.
BTW, I understand Wesley's rather mysterious appearance would have been better explained if his lines had not been cut out.
GordonSkywalker
Yes that is very true. As it was we were left completely in the dark about what some of the key charcaters had been up to since the last film. There was no explanation about Worf being an ambassador, why Wes had suddenly returned and of course how Data's twin was made. The highlight was of course seeing Riker and Deanna finally get together. And seeing the Romulans on the big screen was a nice bonus.
turin
i enjoyed the movie, but there were things that were kind of stupid (all of which you guys have already hit on). but i think i enjoyed it because it showed a lot of ships battling one another. call me a war monger (only in movies) but that is the type of action i enjoy in films and this one didnt disappoint in that respect.
GordonSkywalker
Ain't nothing wrong with that. I like most of the Trek movies for the same reason!

Myndon
I think it was brillaint when picard rammed the enterprise into the otehr one

Julie
Didn't see it, but I had planned on it
GordonSkywalker
Nemesis is a cool fantastic movie, and is defintely better than some of the recent entries.

turin
ya i would rank it high on the trek movie list right behind first contact and wrath of kahn.
GordonSkywalker
I agree. Fast-paced action movies with character-driven plots.
Tevesh
when we went to go see it, the entire time my friend kept screaming Ramming speed! the entire part with the battle between the ships. When it finally happend, we couldn't stop laughing. Too bad Data had to die...he was one of the coolest guys
Myndon
I agree Data was ace, and he was my favorite character
GordonSkywalker
Mine as well. Brent Spiner gave the performance of a lifetime!
finti
he he this one aint gonna be a rental either if you want to see it in Norway you have to buy it.
GordonSkywalker
Is that the standard policy over there or only for certain films?
Roxanne
I love Star Trek, its deffinately one of my favorite shows, I have to say though Deep Space 9 was really bad, but I loved Captian Janeway in voyager.
Augeybana
The first Star Trek was clever and a head of it's time.
GordonSkywalker
It was ahead of its time. I prefer The Next Generation and some of DS9 though. That is why Nemesis appeals to me as a wonderful film and has a compelling storyline. Unlike several more recent attempts.

Augeybana
Is this the last film in the series.
GordonSkywalker
It might be for The Next generation cast. It was billed as such and several key crew members go their own ways at the end of the film. I heard if Paramount does another film it will co-star DS9 people.
Augeybana
Ohh heard Nemises didn't do to good in the Box Office sadly.
GordonSkywalker
That's what I heard too. They are even saying the so-called even number myth has finally failed them.
GordonSkywalker
Even though the films quit using the onscreen numbering system when Star Trek: Generations came out in 1994.
Augeybana
I watch the old shows more then the new ones though.
GordonSkywalker
Now the classic era had staying power and the series of films lasted over a full decade. Compare that to the four TNG movies released since 1994 and you see what I mean.
Augeybana
True that and DR.Who rocked and it's old that cool that shows like that never get too old.
GordonSkywalker
Yes that reminds me...I should resurrect the thread tomorrow.
Augeybana
Hell yeah I got some new tapes from my freind but haven't seen them yet or even now which Doctors is in them.
GordonSkywalker
Cool, let me know when you have seen them and we can discuss it on the thread.
maul's woman
I guess like SW fans ST fans are loyal to the series which is much older than SW.
It's out on VHS and DVD now so anybody who hasn't seen NEMESIS can see it now. I loved it. But it was sad to see the main cast of TNG so old now.
Unfortunately Berman and Braga are not making anymore ST films using the cast members of DS9 and VOYAGER. That is a loss. Those people are still young. Many of them want to do Trek films. Oh well.
GordonSkywalker
STAR TREK:NEMESIS was a better film than First Contact. There is more at stake this time than in recent films efforts. Captain Picard and the Enterprise-E crew have a lot more at risk personally this time around as opposed to a plot based around the Borg.
GordonSkywalker
With the Borg it is always about the enslavement of Earth and that got old a long time ago. Nemesis has several story arcs with Data, Riker and Deanna and so on that add depth to the story that I feel was missing in the earlier films.
Augeybana
I bet they'll be another Star Trek movie.
GordonSkywalker
Yes everytime there is one people say it will be the last one but then anoher one is announced by the guys at Paramount. Rick Berman(the head honcho) has publically said Nemesis is the last film in the series. I don't believe it is either. People have been saying that since The Wrath of Khan in 1982!
Augeybana
Yeah just like many other movies or shows.
GordonSkywalker
Star Trek II and VI were both reputed as the last voyage of the original Enterprise crew yet Captain Kirk made an appearance in Generations. I doubt Nemesis will be the last film for the Next Gen crew despite what Rick Berman says.
Augeybana
Yep when it comes to some francises as long as there money involved they stretch anything out.
GordonSkywalker
I just hope they don't ruin Nemesis' climax by bringing Data back if they do another film.
Augeybana
Knowing them they'll do anything
GordonSkywalker
Brent Spiner has been repeatedly quoted as saying that Data is dead and he ain't coming back.
Augeybana
Interesting and the director of aliens once said he wasn't going to do a Aliens 4 but we know how that went.
GordonSkywalker
Leonard Nimoy said goodbye to the role of Spock in Star Trek II but came back for four sequels and a two-part Next Gen episode.
GordonSkywalker
You mean you didn't know that?
Augeybana
Never saw the two part in NG I mean.
GordonSkywalker
Leonard Nimoy featured in a fifth season two-part TNG episode "Unification" also featuring Denise Crosby as Romulan Commander Sela. This was the last on screen appearance of Spock and aired in November 1991.
Augeybana
Canb't believe I never saw it was it any good.
Augeybana
No it doesn't any of the old calssic rock.
GordonSkywalker
Unification was a great but Part 2 is where we really get to see Spock. He was working in secret with the Romulan underground and ends up working with Captain Picard and Data to uncover a traitor in their midst.
Tex
OK, I've seen it.
Not bad, not bad at all.
Although some scenes were horribly cheesy. Like that whole wedding bit! And data singing Oh God! Like pulling teeth. The special effects were pretty kewl and the premise was alright. My big ? Why did that Picard clone dude want to blow up earth? I mean the federation didn't do anything to him, it was all the Romulans, why not blow them up?
And data dying was pretty dumb too.
Considering that Nemesis was a major BO flop, I really doubt there will another one. People are sick of TNG and not enough people watched Voyager to warrant a $70 million movie investment.
Phoenix
Who's seen Star Trek Nemesis?
The bad guy in that was soooooo cool, and SCARILY attractive...
diegocala
Bad movie, I was very dissapointed
Evil Dead
I thought the movie was okay but it was definetly the worst Star trek movie ever made...............
T-1000
nope, Resurrection was worse, much worse.
Evil Dead
Ressurection? what the hell.........If you meant Insurrection, I must disagree with you. I thought the story was much better than that of Nemesis.
Star Trek: The Motion Picture
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan
Star Trek III: The Search for Spock
Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home
Star Trek V: The Final Frontier
Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country
Star Trek VII: Generations
Star Trek VIII: First Contact
Star Trek IX: Insurrection
Star Trek X: Nemesis
diegocala
I always thought is was called Erection

jimbo25
Erection!!! That's GREAT!!!

Now I must seriously disagree; Generations was the worst piece of crap to ever hit the Star Trek universe. It only had significance in that:
1--Duras sisters die(tragic ending of a storyline)!!!!!!
2--Data gets emotions
3--LaForge gets eyes
4--Kirk finally dies
However, I would entertain the idea that Final Frontier was worse.
saber
No. I saw it, boy your behind the times.
Primitive Screwhead #1
bangin
No... you just responded to a thread from 2001. Talk about behind the times...
