For what reason? To say something that has already been said or argued for the upteenth time? You do realize that most of the discussions on these boards only go in circles, just to be recycled and discussed again at a later date and time. Have you ever rifled through the archives? Just as there are no original thoughts there are no topics that haven't already been discussed here. The more topical subjects are the only ones worth latching onto, hoping to contribute some type of opinion before it's already spoken. If, however, you are not quick enough to make that topical discussion before it's already run it's course...,it has run it's course and is only being fueled by people who want to argue. This is why i tend to stick to browsing the interest oriented boards. There, i can have fun because people are more understanding. I can sit back and unwind with a bad sense of humor and a broken wit without having to worry about being ridiculed. Unless, i feel like stepping on toe's or arguing a silly topic deeper than warranted, i don't have to worry about wasting critical thought and emotion to a thread topic that is only being driven so people can hear themselves argue or say the same thoughts but just articulated differently in hopes to save face. Yes, KMC is where people can come to feel smart, stupid, clownish, close, loved, witty, charming, sophisticated, etc...
I used to be heartfelt and honest but for what? I just need a place to unwind. Not a place to mold a philosophical or socialistic perspective. Is that ok? I was simply making an observation that there are at least 6 threads devoted to Obama talk on the General discussion boards. Is than any more criminal than someone posting...,"DUPLICATE THREAD"? for **** sakes. I wasn't trying to infringe on anyones political discussion because there is obviously more than enough of that tripe to go around. It was just a topical observation.

Was that serious enough for you?

I like politics because the same shit tactics are pulled ever time. I like put people on the spot with their stupid beliefs. Everytime I heard, "Barack Hussein Obama is a terrorist...just look at his name." I would say, "oh, so I'm a Roman Catholic who is a member of the mafia....just look at my name."

But I'm telling this to the wrong person. You're a racist who doesn't deserve the country that was built on the enslaved backs of the African American of whom you despise. Sad, really, that you can't see that.

Doom and Gloom
No, in fact I hope they're just getting started. For the record I think it's good a black person finally got elected President. I don't think Obama is a Muslim but a number of his associations are very questionable. His ideology is my main concern and I think he will drive this country completely into the ground.

actually, watching his victory speech, I got a chill when, in unison, the crowd began the appropriate "yes we can" chant.

Then me and my friend discussed how you never see the video of Nazis practicing marching in unison...

Comparing a Obama's skill as a politician and leader to that of Hitler shouldn't be that worrying considering how great and effective a leader Hitler was. And yes he was evil, but sharing one trait doesn't mean they'll share others.

In inimalist's defense, I don't think he was comparing the actual leaders themselves. At least, that's what I got.

Les yeux clos
I don't really understand the comparisons between Obama and Hitler, but I've heard it a few times. Could someone explain? From what I've read about Obama, and listening to his speech, I feel a certain amount of hope that he will bring about positive change. Clearly the previous government are doing something, or a lot of things, very wrong, and seem to have brought America as low as it can go.

Also, to the point of the thread, no, I'm not sick of Obama threads personally. I find them quite interesting.

I sure hope Obama officiates more from a center/bipartisan position. If he doesn't, some of those critical threads may hold substance, but most of the tripe in the racist threads never will. (I said "most" not because some of the racist things are right, but because some of the things said BY the racists could be right....I can't damn all the threads and get away with being correct.)

The general idea is that they both energized the youth group in their countries, and that both were captivating speakers. Also, the more republicans compare Obama to Hitler and Osama Bin Laden, the more truthy their claims become- right?

(I'm a bleeding heart liberal and the republican scare tactics sicken me.)

I'm not sure if your dense, but we've had this conversation before. I am one of those who stands up for my whiteness when racism comes my way. I call B.S. on African Americans when they cry "racism" left and right when the perpetuate the very thing they decry. I don't like racism, no matter where it comes from, spideydude.

yes, it is probably impossible for any person to avoid stereotyping or the occasional racist thought

It is another thing entirely to forge a world-view and politic around those ideas. wink

It must just be where you live, because I've never seen someone trashed for talking about being proud of their heritage, be they white, black, asian, etc.

not saying all blacks cause crime yes theres some good ones and bad ones just like whites. theres some good ones and bad ones.

From the responses to the story:

There was nothing similar about the speaking styles of the two men.

However, this looks to be a pretty substantive redirect link from the offical Obama website, whitehouse.gov and the congressional website. It's official folks! The lazy nergos can take one more day of doing nothing for their country, other than taking advantage of it as a race, onto their crowded schedule of going to prison, voting for black men, cashing their welfare checks and frying everything they eat.

I like that it's an article from the Topeka(Kansas) Capital-Journal. I give it a matter of hours before Mr. America here posts a link to the article on the home page about Gun Sales skyrocketing because Obama has been elected President.

Well he is our new president and it is very important that everyone knows about him and all of his plans in the white house. Its good to discuss him, so no.

UKR
People are only making a big deal because he's black. They're dumb enough to think there will be huge changes. Think again. The president's not really in charge and he doesn't make the decisions. Obama could only have gotten elected if he was willing to serve the demands of the elites, the omnipotent, ultra-billionaire corporations who own America and everyone in it, including Obama and everyone on this forum. He can't cancel the war because the elites aren't going to give him permission. He can't cancel the damage to American freedoms Bush did because the psychopaths who are really in charge won't let him. It doesn't matter what Obama wants to do because he's not making the decisions. Everything is and will always be exactly the way it already was with Bush and every white president. In four years everything will be just as bad and possibly worse and it won't get better if he gets elected again. So you leftards with your liberal mental disease and your politically correct delusions can wake up and smell the BS already. Obama's no Christlike savior, just another figurehead, a puppet, nothing more than that, and neither he nor any other president, regardless of race or gender, will ever be anything more than that. The president has very clear demands his superiors require him to meet, and saving the world instead of amorally destroying it is not among those demands.

If people had really bothered to listen to him he never really promised change.

All the populist crap he was hyping was just a voice over for FDR, LBJ, and Jimmy Carter. It's the same old song and dance.

The election was like a fistfight on the titanic, no matter who won the ship is still going down.

There is an irony in the fact that he is being hailed as a new-epoch in politics, not because of his skin colour but because of his charisma, dynamism and apparent "new approach" to politics. There was so much hope that he would silence corporations and the big-fists and give America a fresh start with an increased standing in the world...

I can think of another president who was dynmaic and had a very definite new approach to politics, did silence the national oligarchs and most certainly saved his country from almost total destitution...yet no one calls him a hero the way they do with Obama...

It seems Obama hasn't marked the end of prejudice- at least not as far as countries are concerned.
