How many celestrials can Galactus defeat?

Hewhoknowsall
How many? 1? 2? 3? 4?

And can he beat Exitar?

Bentley
It depends how hungry he is, quite obviously.

Hewhoknowsall
A few days after eating a slightly larger than earth planet.

Utrigita
Ordinary Celestials? With Galactus at a fed powerlevel? I would say he can take four.

Now take four and add in Exitar and it's get nasty but I still believe he can pull it through (based on the showings in the Earth X and his experience with Hyperstorm)

Bentley
It depends in how he fights too, he can eat Hyperspace, or simply use it against them. At the very least he should be able to take two -he did defeat Tenebrous and Aegis once upon the time-.

He would certainly have problems against four or more.

Utrigita
As I see it Tenebrous and Aegis are a form of Celestials, and Galactus basically Killed/imprisoned what was left of their race beginning with taking out perhaps the strongest of the Proimal Gods.

Agreed at four his troubles behinds, but it depend on what we are comparing? Are it ordinary Celestials (no name and no part of the hosts) then I would say he can take a fairly large slice of them before falling, now take him against the fourth host and disable his ability to utilize and consume Hyperspace, then it get real nasty, that is a battle that Galactus imo cannot win not while he is simply fed he requires a lot more energy.

Hewhoknowsall
It seems wierd though that he could take even one (not that he can't), I mean, they are like 2,000 feet tall and Galactus is 28 feet. You'll see a tiny dot vs. a huge collosus. And Exitar is almost as high as Everest.

Utrigita
Galactus can take any size that he wishes.

Love me some Galactus. We should do a team to look over all his showings and pick feats to an obscene respect thread.

I still need more confidence to pull something like that.

Hewhoknowsall
You know there's a poll...

janus77
3-4 regular - "average" - Celestials, imo.

if he's well fed and has a strong reason to fight, then I think he can take dozens, if not more.

if he's ruthless and well fed, then he might obliterate the whole race by consuming Hyperspace/the Universe.

if he's insane - UN everything!

ultimatethor
Id say 4

guy222
Galactus isn't beating a host of Celestials

In regards to the UN, Janus. He doesn't whip it out and start nullifying everything

I'll ask my Galactus friends, has he ever used the UN

Utrigita and Tenebrous knows my stance on Galactus and Celestials. We respect each others opinions

Great scans Ut. As I told u per PM, no need to post those low showings of Big G. Marvel just hates the Big Guy. Shame on em

Indeed

A better question would be "How many Galactuses does it take to beat a Celestial?".

kgkg
at normal level 1-2 Celestial

The reaction of the Time Authority Variance to that was awesome -also they implied that Galactus has used the UN before-.

why does the UN look like shit?

yup true, wasn't intimating that he had, just that if he decided to "go insane" he could do it.

as to the number he could beat, I'm just thinking in terms of his capacity to absorb energy and life... I doubt it'd happen in comics (again) and of course, Celestials could develop counter-measures (not sure what exactly) so not so straight forward as him consuming hyperspace/the universe.

that said, he can manipulate hyperspace, how much of a factor do you think that would be in a conflict?

guy222
In theory, that could work

But a swarm of Celestials, Big G would be down

Good to know, I know that checking all the showings and uploading the feats can be a pain.

I have some Galactus feats I can contribute.

starlock
Galactus can Maybe beat 1 Celestial, and that matters depending on which one i.m.o

Great Scans! What the issue for Nova? The last Link! stick out tongue

Utrigita
I believe it was Nova 12...

Symmetric Chaos
One. Unless he uses the UN.

Harbinger
Moderately fed, I think he could take 2 or 3 Celestials so long as they weren't high end ones like Arishem or Exitar. To take on those two, he'd have to be well-fed, IMO.

cool

Tenebrous
Eh..you'd need some sort of stipulation, like blood lust or what not. Celestials (obvious exception: Tiamut the Renegade) would never attack Galactus.

Conversely, Galactus would have no direct reason to throw down. The only cosmic entities/beings that have confronted Galactus have done so out of spite (In-Betweener, Tyrant, Tenebrous/Aegis, etc.) or ignorance (The Phoenix Force).

That being said...it's a real wonder why Marvel has never even peered into the possibility: Celestials cultivate/cull subjects over millennia on planets-odds are in the billions of years of universal existence there had to be some worlds that Galactus threatened and the celestials had belabored over. But this has never been explored...it'd be interesting if it were.

As to the thread, 2-3 for a reasonably well-fed G. A Celestial host, and G would have to do some prep (yes, he does prep) and bring his tech into the fray. I find it hard to conceive Taa II not having some impressive combat capabilities, but obviously, that is speculation.

When I've done respect threads its always a mess, I suck at tagging and I end up missing a single scan and copying several times the same.

What's a "Celestrial"?

A Celestial on trial? (In the LT's court)?

occultdestroyer
It really depends on which Celestial Galactus is fighting with.

He would have a hard time with Tiamut or Exitar, even if he's well-fed. Probably ends in a stalemate or Galactus using BFR or UN to win.

Scathan or TOAA omfgwtfpwns Galactus.

No. The One Above All has almost no feats, aside from lobbing planets at Thanos w/IG. That's impressive but when Galactus moves galaxies around space, it's not comparable.

Eternity considers Galactus is be his peer, and aren't Celestrials servants of Eternity?

Not too sure who CelestRials are, but it's been theorized that the Celestials were created by Eternity to perform the function of planting seeds to engineer evolution. Celestials are supposedly multiversal beings (since they seem to come from their own universe) so it would make sense that they serve Multi-Eternity...not just an individual Eternity.

Galactus is a peer of Eternity, yes, but that does not mean he is as powerful. They're equals in terms of importance, not power.

I'd give Galactus a victory against just one Celestial.
