Dollhouse is the upcoming series by Joss Whedon~
Here is the trailer:
yDcEKo4V7fA
Hopefully that works. o.o

http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h306/_Sanctuary_/dollhousecast.jpg
Regular cast:
Echo played by Eliza Dushku
Adelle DeWitt played by Olivia Williams
Paul Ballard played by Tahmoh Penikett
Topher Brink played by Fran Kranz
Sierra played by Dichen Lachman
Victor played by Enver Gjokaj
Boyd Langton played by Harry J. Lennix
In Dollhouse, Dushku plays a young woman named Echo, a member of a group of people known as "Actives" or "Dolls." The Dolls have had their personalities wiped clean so they can be imprinted with any number of new personas, including memory, muscle memory, skills, and language, for different assignments. They're then hired out for particular jobs, crimes, fantasies, and occasional good deeds. On missions, Actives are monitored internally (and remotely) by Handlers. In between tasks, they are mind-wiped into a child-like state and live in a futuristic dormitory/laboratory, a hidden facility nicknamed "The Dollhouse". The story follows Echo, who begins, in her mind-wiped state, to become self-aware.
set to premiere February 13, 2009!~

I must say that the idea doesn't interest me as much as Buffy/Angel and Firefly did. On the other hand it is Joss Whedon...so it's already going to be above average. I'll be interested in how it is going to turn out.
BruceSkywalker
Always been a fan of Eliza Dushku...
I'll be watching each episode
Ordained
i agree with Bardock
ariwin
I can't wait for this. I'm a little concerned about his ability to make these characters (who refresh every day with new memories/personalities/etc.) as empathetic so quickly as the Firefly or Buffy characters... but I have faith it'll be a great show, nonetheless. And of course, I <3 Eliza Dushku!
Sanctuary
In my opinion many parts of the trailer looked incredibly lame, so that kinda disappointed me. I think it will still be good though, and I like the idea.
BruceSkywalker
I'm hoping this show is good from the get go..
The plot are not to keen about but still I'll pay attention
Gideon
Joss Whedon is a god. I used to be the biggest Angel/Firefly fanboy.
MildPossession
Urgh, it's got one actress out of the soap Neighbours who couldn't act to save her life...
I don't think this will be one show I carry on watching once I see what it's like.

Me too.

Though "fangirl" and not boy... I will watch Dollhouse because I trust him, but that's not to say it WILL be amazing. I think he's working under some pretty tight restrictions from Fox. I hope it's great though! Suddenly, this show isn't all that far away... I remember when it was first picked up, it was AGES until midseason time.

The part where about their minds gets wiped after every Job/Tasks reminds of what Weapon X did.

I hate watching tv on fridays as well, but what I'll do is record both shows and watch them sometime on saturday

the premiere episode last night was very very good..
interesting plot, but knowing Joss Whedon, he will make everything work..
Darth Macabre
It was alright, but still, I would much rather have a Faith spin-off.
Walker.I
I really liked the pilot. I thought it was interesting in plot and the way it looked kind of drew me in. I'm not at all happy about it being on Fridays, because it's a death slot for TV shows, but I read that they've ordered more than the average amount of episodes and are hoping it'll be like the next 'X-Files'(because that show premiered on Friday and got popular). Anyway, I really liked it.

Trailer is cool and I loved ya
MildPossession
It got rubbish ratings apparently, even Supernanny beat it in the ratings!! if that was in the UK(where Supernanny originated) it would be an embarressment...
starlock
I enjoyed the episode.....i hope i can catch it every friday...it had a good feel to it.
BruceSkywalker
I like watching dollhouse..
its well made and i like the mystery surrounding echo
ariwin
I thought this second episode was better than the first by a LOT. I really liked episode 2. Felt a lot more... Jossy.
Walker.I
I love all the little touches that don't really make sense yet throughout the show. Like at the end where Sierra smiles and Echo and Echo tenses up and very subtly shakes her head no. Or things that are just cool, like in the end of the last episode where she puts her hand to her shoulder, something she shouldn't remember. Even though the other back story is intriguing, this is my favorite part. Also, I loved the bit at the end where Adele(I think that's her name), stands up for Echo's behavior.
I'm excited about next episodes plot, because I even though it played out well enough, I didn't really want to dive into the whole pop star thing. I think it was too showy, the kind of storyline they should stay away from.
BruceSkywalker
This show is very good..
there is something about Echo that you like
Walker.I
My favorite thing, and what makes the show work, is that you can really feel Echo under all her programmed personalities.
ariwin
I won't spoil, but wow, what an "omg" moment right at the very end of episode three. FINALLY we see Joss in all of this.
Sanctuary
Weird that Friday is the bad-tv-night in the US. hmm Fridays are teh awesomest day for TV in the UK and the weekend is shit. hmm
I like the second episode of dollhouse most out of all. They all feel a bit generic and predictable though.. I hope it gets better.
Also, Eliza is being soooo Faith-like every time. It's annoying. T_________________T
Walker.I
I read in an Eliza Dushku interview, that everything is supposed to get more Joss in episode six and beyond. She said that these first view "generic" episodes are just to hook in viewers who wouldn't find themselves generally watching it.
I agree though, the second episode was the best so far. It had action, a "Most Dangerous Game" plot, and I found the flashbacks to be very interesting.
ariwin
And did I detect a hint of something between Amy Acker's character and Boyd, the handler? Love it!
I'm increasingly optimistic. I have also heard that the magic number is 6 episodes -- I just hope beyond all hope that Fox doesn't axe it before it gets that chance.

its only because here in the US people always go to the movies, bars, clubs, etc on fridays.. I go out myself, but not before I watch Dollhouse.
I do agree with you that the show is predictable, but it should get better after each episode
Walker.I
I loved this episode. Best so far this season, definately. If episode six is bringing better than this, my hopes are high. There were so many great moments that the other episodes only ever had like two of, that I can't even can't them. I'll probably have more to say when I watch it again tomorrow on Hulu.
BruceSkywalker
this show gets better with each episode..
also i like eliza's blank stare at the end of each episode.
it gives credence to her character
ariwin
I like Echo's blank stare too, Bruce... I've seen other message boards complaining about her acting when Echo is in her "resting state" but I really like Eliza's acting so far. I loved her in the safe this time... when she said at the end, "I'm not broken" I felt like cheering. I didn't think I was going to get attached to her character but there is just something incredibly sweet and appealing and... hidden strength-y, about her when she's theoretically "wiped" of personality.
Walker.I
I agree, I love Echo's mind wiped state.
I just hope that this episode she isn't the bad ass chick, because sure Eliza's acting has been good, but basically everyone she's done has had the element of character she's good at playing. I thought her acting in the vault though, was superb.
Walker.I
I thought that this was another strong episode of Dollhouse, not as solid as 'Gray Hour', but handled better than 'Stage Fright'. The climax of the episode was slightly repetitive and even though it was explained, what's-his-face-Adelle's-go-to-emergency-man showing up was a little too spontaneous for me. As if they were trying to advance the plot line too soon. At least this time, Ballard's story line really went some where, but I wish they held off on him going to investigate until next episode. They probably didn't do that though because I think he'll have a lot more to do next week, which I can't wait for. Great preview and it's the hyped sixth episode.
BruceSkywalker
Dollhouse continues to be very interesting..
I will watch each episode

WOW WOW WOW WOW! Dollhouse is now intriguing, complex, confusing, and intricate. That's just how I like my television.

Wow... I predicted some of the twists in this ep but definitely not all. I must say... I think he lived up to his six-episode promise. Topher isn't annoying me anymore either.
BruceSkywalker
really good tonight
Walker.I
I didn't think it was the best episode. It had a nearly solid foundation in its backstory but the A plot was uninteresting at best. As far as the whole episode goes, it was very underdeveloped and felt more like a placeholder for "The Awakening" next week. That, though, looks amazing.
Score: B

no it wasn't but still good enough

I actually liked this week's episode. It was a bit lighter, but I actually liked that because I saw more of the Joss whimsy in it. It made me feel like he had his stamp on it, which was great.
srankmissingnin
So far there doesn't seem to be any point or overall storyline, sure some stuff has been hinted at (Alpha), but eight episodes in and there really isn't a mission statement. Am I supposed to want the Dolls to escape? Well... if they escape then they'd just be regular people, so that seems unlikely. Am I supposed want them to remain where they are and hope the status quo remains the same until their contracts are up? There series doesn't really seem to have an goals. The only part that makes sense and is the least be compelling is Paul's mission to shut down the Dollhouse but that is relegated to the back burners and seems to be of little importance.
I don't care about Echo, she is a different person every week, which makes rooting for her hard (and I'm not sure what I'm supposed to even be rooting for) and I flat out dislike the character of Caroline, I have no sympathy for her whatsoever. The entire episode of "Needs," I was thinking "What the hell... you all signed up for this you dumb *****!" The series would work much, much better if Paul was the main character and Echo had more of a River Tam type roll.
Horrible, horrible series. Firefly and Buffy where so great that I'm willing to take Dollhouse's awfulness on the chin for now so Whedon can get a paycheck but I don't know how long I can subject myself to it.

BruceSkywalker
last nights show was decent.. it should have been a much better episode
glad thogh than Dichen Lachman spoke in her own native tongue

I thought it was a solid episode last night. Second best of all of them so far. My favorite part was when the actives were all walking out, it was so palpable.
A(A sharply written episode consisting of zero major mistakes. Usually develops characters in a meaningful manner and is a joy to watch on repeat viewings. Near perfect, but not quite there.)

I agree. Well, I'd probably give the episode a B, because I'm a tough grader. But I think it was solid, and enjoyable, if a bit predictable. The show still gives the impression of waiting for something to happen, and I agree that it lacks some kind of definitive direction. Halfway through the ep I was assuming Echo would go back in "undercover" and pretend to be a doll, and try to work from the inside, and that would be the overarching plot. But apparently not... I guess we'll see.
Walker.I
I thought this was a great episode. The best so far, it's better than "Man on the Street" because it was paced excellently where in areas MOtS was rather slow and it is better than "Needs" because it wasn't a "gimmick" of sorts. Sure the "Needs" "gimmick" had motovations behind it, but it almost wrongfully toyed with viewer expectations. Anyway, I feel the biggest problem of the episode was the off tone during the "Lonely Heart" scenes(not including the breakdown, it gives Adelle humanity, which was much needed in her case).
On the other hand, unless I missed something, Dominic can't be the only spy because it woudn't be logical for him to tamper with imprints if he was in charge of making sure the Dollhouse didn't screw up for the other company or something. Either way, if he did that, he'd burn bridges with both of his employers. Please inform me if I missed something.
Score: A
As for two weeks from now, it looks like an interesting stand alone, but those haven't been the shows strong points thus far. This far in the story and the chance of getting a second season isn't all too likely, I think the last thing this show needs is another "Stage Fright" or an uneven plot like "Echoes", let alone an episode that isn't relevant to the season arc. Fortunately, Adelle information seems like it'll pop up ,which could possibly make it worth attention.
I'm definitely rewatching this episode on Hulu tomorrow.
BruceSkywalker
great show this past friday..
its a shame this show prolly won't have a second season..
i have been a fan of eliza for a long time and hopefully she will get a permanent job on tv as well as in the movies

I thought this was the best episode so far as well. It was just fantastic. It's amazing to me how fast Joss Whedon is willing to spend his character capital -- things that, in Buffy, would've taken all season to come to light (Ballard finding out about Mellie/November, for example) happen in a matter of episodes. It shows he has faith that he can build up capital as fast as he can spend it.
Well, or he's worried about having only one season. ><

Okay so I was reading tvguide.coms synopisises for the next couple of weeks worth of Doll House episodes and it turns out that Alan Tudyck is not Alpha but is instead the creater of the Dollhouse. Unless tv guide is intentionally misleading us I am confused. I though Tudyck as Alpha was confirmed

The ideas it explores are interesting and I like that it is hard to read characters. For example Mr. Dominique seemed like an *******, but his talk with Echo towards the end of the episode made his character more layered. I wonder where they will go with it.
Sanctuary
So far the series hasn't really captured my interest as much as I thought it would. I don't feel drawn to any of the characters.

It's getting better though, gradually.

Nice, very nice. This is very much like when Brubaker leaked that Foggy Nelson was killed in Daredevil only to reveal in the last issue of his first arc that he wasn't.
Whedon let word get out that Tuduk was Alpha only to tell us last week that he wasn't so we wouldn't suspect it. Tuduk played the simpering wuss so perfectly that when he attacked Victor it was intensely creepy. Infact it kind of reminded me of when Beaver Cassablancas turned on Veronica in the episode "Not Pictured" I love how masterfully he manipulated Paul Ballard.
So he didn't put Caroline in Caroline's body but instead he put her in Ashley Johnson who ever she plays next week.
So I wonder who is actually in Caroline's body and why he just didn't put whoever she really is in her own body. I really can't wait till next week.

Man. Even though I already knew Alan Tudyk was Alpha, Whedon managed to make me second guess myself for a while there. Even already knowing Whedon's red herring shenanigans (any Buffy fans remember when he countered the rumor that Spike dies at the end by saying he'd be joining the cast of Angel... only to have him die anyway).
Thought this episode was fantastic. Though it made me so sad to hear "season finale" in the preview for next week... so worried it'll be the series finale too.

Alpha and Whiskey go awol on an assignment and the Client lets him know that he and her are not real and that the assignment was all his fantasay. Amy Acker is infact a Doll formally known as Whiskey. She replaces the former Doctor Saunders a male. She is Dollhouse's most requested active. Caroline is first touring Dollhouse right after Alpha and Whiskey get back from their tramatic assignment that brought out the "artist" in Alpha. Alpha takes an imidiate liking to Echo even kissing her a couple of times.
Caroline is placed in the body of the girl who played Mel Gibson's daughter in What Women Want.
The first person Alpha attacked was Whiskey and he told her to let Echo be number one. So here is what happened. Topher downloaded all of Alpha's previous personalities into him inorder to figure out why he attacked Whiskey, which of the personalities caused it but he broke out before they were removed so he has all 41? of his personalities rumbling around in his head.
He does the same to Echo so that he can kill Caroline who is in another body.
Instead she attacks alpha. Meaning what he did to her might have actually worked while what happened to him was a glitch/failure.
Alpha's original name was Carl Craft Paul Ballard does in fact save the girl. In that he saves Carolines imprint when it falls several stories to the ground.
Ballard is now a contractor for the Dollhouse Milly is set free instead of Caroline as part of his contract. Paid in full. Echo is still Echo but knows who Caroline is and Saunders while programed to replace Doctor Saunders has extra computer knowledge and hates Topher. I'm thinking she is who he programmed Sierra with. Or at least she was originally.
Alpha is still on the loose.
End of season.
