Alex Shepard is the protagonist of Silent Hill Homecoming. He comes back from a war and heads back to his home town, Shepard's Glen. He gets home and finds his mother in a mental state and also finds out that his little brother Joshua and his father are missing. Alex looks for answers at Silent Hill. What he finds out is that he never actually fought in a war, he was at a mental hospital the whole time and only thought he was in the army and this was explained by his dad before he got sliced in half by Pyramid Head. Alex stumbles into a room with three coffins. One had his family members' names on it and instantly remembers that he accidentely killed Josh long ago while taking a boat out on the lake. A giant spider-like monster appears from the ceiling and Alex later defaets it. Before killing the creature, Alex cuts its stomach open and Josh falls right out of it. Alex had to accept he was dead and before leaving the body behind, he said his farewells to him.
Weapons that Alex had was an axe, a steel pipe, a handgun, a shotgun, and a combat knife.
Whenever Alex is in dark areas, he has his flashlight with him. He's equipped with a radio and makes a static noise when a monster is nearby.
