finti
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? laughing out loud laughing

Ushgarak
I am surprised you haven't heard of If... BF! Lindsay Anderson's most famous film and Malcolm Macdowell's debut!

The post editing thing is because there is ALWAYS trouble when people can change their posts after the scope the edit function is intended for (i.e. finishing off posts you fired off early by mistake or correcting spelling). Especially during an argument.

Thomas H
turtles rock!

finti
You see Steve-O I grew up with SW just as you grew up with Mutant Ninja Hero Turtles. SW has no age limits the turtle thing does

Dexx
well..a small jar jar element problem somewhere around there...but that's about it, yeah

BackFire349
i still enjoy watchin teenage mutant ninja turtles. there is no rule that says just cuz a movie is made FOR kids that adults and enjoy it too.

Dexx
yes, but "teenage mutant ninja turtles"??? just look at the name

steve-o
Oh my god you need to shut your mouth!!! LOOK AT YOU Finti. Now I honestly dont mean this in a negative way. I'm sure yer a super cool guy, you gotta good life, bla bla bla. BUT, yer a grown man, and you watch a movie MADE for kids. Not only that- Yer icon is Garth Maul, you obviously are obsessed with Star Wars. Now, in most books, thats not normal for someone at your age. Sure its normal for geeks amongst geeks, but its not considered normal. Movies like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Ghostbusters and Gremlins, etc etc. Are classic kiddy movies. I'm not obsessed with Ninja Turtles, I loved Ninja Turtles when I was younger, and I still love the movies. Whats wrong with that? If I was collecting Ninja Turtles lunch boxes and shampoo- then you'd have somethn to complain about. So DONT even PRETEND to diss Ninja Turtles. Whether yer 5 or 40- liking the movies is A OK. But I mean...seriously, Star Wars is for kids. It's cool that adults can enjoy it (ALTHOUGH I DONT THINK THEY DO, considering everyone bashes Jar Jar Binks)- but really- Star Wars is aimed for kids. Dont even try and argue silly Rabbit.

Who said Star Wars didnt have age limits?! What the **** is age limits anyway?! Finti you cant even say ANYTHING like that- cuz YER 30 somethn years old and you are obsessed with STAR WARS- A KIDDY MOVIE. So my advice to you is- stop pretending to be a hot shot- ENJOY yer little kiddy movies and let others enjoy theirs. Cuz I hate to burst yer bubble tough guy- but YOU AINT ANYTHING SPECIAL. No hard feelings. Rock on brotha.

finti
To your info Steve O
You contradict yourself all the time, you say you still love TMNT yet you are in your late teens, and you go on about it is ok for adults to watch kiddie movies. But a grown man cant watch Star Wars, well make up your mind.

I saw SW when it came out in 1977. I was a kid then and I have loved it ever since. I aint obsessed with it , just enjoy the movies ( the old trilogy much more than the new films).
I chose the DM avatar cause I thought it was the coolest one this site offered in the avatar section.
I know SW is meant for those around 12, but the first trilogy was very much part of me growing up so it is hard to not take part when the new stuff came. And further if you had read some of the discussions we had about the SW movies you would have notice that I try to tell people to dont get to complicated with the story cause it is a story for 12 years old.
Someone need to tell critics that too cause they have treated AOTC as a movie for adults.

Life in it self is serious enough, thank god for the oportunity to just hang out on sites like this and forgett real life for a while.
You are still young so you actually dont know shit about adult life yet, but it will come to you too just hope you are able to cut off the real life once in awhile. Visiting sites like this and have some fun.

I bet you do have a TMNT lunchbox though.
And if you took time and looked ant some profiles here you will find out that a lot of people here are over 20, well over it too and most of them really love Star Wars.

Fitch
steve-o,

You have big problems expressing u're self.U should get proffesional help.
U're telling me that a grown up cannot watch SW couse it's for 12 year olds,or that Matrix it's a gay movie, but u're telling me that u'll watch Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles until 40 years old.Let me tell you something,SW it's a huge universe, not only the movies,it has many parts that aren't only for kids and it's a story that will never perrish.I passed the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles level and forgot bout that movie when I was 12,and I recomand that to you too......wink

Dexx
there are too many out there influenced by these suppose aged limits. I do/don't like it cuz it's adressed to a certain age. For kids or no Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sux bigtime! And most of us..no...all of us know that starwars is as simple of an ideea of a plot as you can get but the whole thing is binding. That's why it's so expanded.
Stev-o....i almost categorise you as not being worthy of a Jules siggie...almost

zimbo
..............and Matrix not gay movie.............

Fitch
you've got that right....

VampirePrincess

the first crow is pretty good, the sequals are trash. neverending story, good choice their, outstanding fantasy movie.

VampirePrincess
Micheal Ends creation (Neverending Story).... All three movies made of that all are connected to the book. The first movie was only the first part of the book. Itsa great fantasy.

I pretty much a Crow fan so I stay loyal to all the movies.

Ushgarak
You need to turn down that attitude, Steve-O

And Star Wars maybe designed for kids but it is still aimed at a BROAD audience. It has much resonance that older people appreciate, unless you think a dispute over trade tariffs is typical kids stuff.

TMNT was NOT. It was ONLY a kid's movie.

BackFire349
its none of our business to say that adults cant enjoy kids movie, i enjoy many childrens movies for different reasons. tmnt is fun and i enjoy it. theres no rule against that.

steve-o
Backfire cleared it up. Thanks G.

Ushgarak
None at all, but then I like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. It doesn't quite fit in the same area as Star Wars.

To some extent the Star Wars films DO have some deliberate adult appeal. It has a resonance that appeals across all ages, and a certain style that brings in the adults. It got adult fans as well as child ones at the time of its release, a good deal of the marketing and stuff is aimed at a morew adult audience (although a good deal is also aimed at kids) and it cannot be put in the same bracket as completely dedicated kids movies like TMNT.

Which is not to knock TMNT, that I have not even seen, in any way whatsoever, I am just saying they are not quite in the same area

Dexx
hey, i probably didn't see tmnt either...hmm

Fitch
I'm not sure.I saw 2 ninja turtles movies but I don't remember their full names.Anyway,SW and TN movies are not in the same cathegory

Thomas H
