By pointless rules in society, I mean in THIS society of KMC Forums. I don't know what all of the rules are, but the major rule I'd like to discuss is the spam rule here.

We generally class SPAM as a website with which the person has a personal interest in, or is not a relevant topic of discussion. You can, however, place links in your signature (excluding forums) as long as it is placed sensibly."

Last time I checked, spam is repeatedly posting the same random crap over and over again, not simply asking people to check out a link. The link in question could also contain anything from porn to a simple youtube video (that could have some connection to the poster such as they recorded and uploaded it, which would be their "interest" in said link).

For example, I have gotten in trouble for supposedly spamming a link to my own forum board. I didn't spam it, I only posted it once, but that's besides the point. There is a link at the bottom lower right corner of the main homepage that says "Tell a Friend About us!" Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that against the code of conduct of KMC? Does this link not take you to a page that the sole purpose of is to advertise or "spam" KMC?

So essentially, posting a link to my MySpace Page would be against the rules, since I have a personal interest with said link. But, is it wrong to want to socialize, isn't that what we're here for in the first place? Also, what is so wrong with linking to another forum board? Whether or not you own it, you cannot tell me that some of the people here (if not the majority of the people here) do not have another account on some other forum board. I personally am a member of well over 4 different forum boards as well as owning and operating my own. So basically what I've gleaned from this is that KMC is scared of losing members to other forum boards. That can be the ONLY possible reason for not allowing ANY links to other forum boards, at all. What other reason could there possibly be? And if the thread is made in the Off-Topic board, what is the problem? According to the rules about spam, that would be where to post something like that. It's not relevant to any topic; so it's basically Off-Topic.

I don't mean to bore all of you with this rant, but I just wanted to open some sort of reasonable and CIVIL discussion. Please keep all RUDE, SNIDE, HATEFUL, ARROGANT, IGNORANT, and STUPID comments to yourselves, and this means moderators too. Re-read what you are posting. Twice if you have to, and if ANYTHING in the post seems AT ALL in line with the aforementioned "attitudes," then re-type it and please for all things holy keep it civil. Thank you.

Prostitution being illegal always baffled me. Why?

I never understood why 15 year old Utahns with big noses were allowed to use Myspace, to be honest.

Personally I don't understand the rules for not being allowed to post links to other forums in your signature, it seems a bit silly. But I can understand why it is not allowed to post links (especially repeatedly) to company sites, it just free advertisement for those, and other companies actually have to pay to advertise here. As for your Myspace page that should be fine in the right place and the right time, for example, I believe we have a MySpace thread here.

Your forum you can still tell your friends about using the PM function for example...as long as you don't just PM every random person.

Yeah, by signing up to this site you agree that you've read the rules...so there's no excuse. It probably would have taken less time to read them than to post 'explaining' why you haven't read them.

And no one actually attacked you - stating that a thread sucks is not a personal attack. Also, this is the OTF, where staying on topic is optional and not to be expected.

1) we cant wear shorts or tank tops after like sept 30 and not until may 1
2)cell phones arent allowed, we arent even allowed to have music or cameras
3)theres a lock on the elevator that only goes up to the 2nd floor in a 4 floor building
4)no food or drink outside the caffeteria
5)you have to stay after school for 5, 10, or 15 mins if youre late for class
