What 600 million? That would mean we would all loose our jobs twice.

Why? It was just a verbal gaffe.

the point is that the stimulus package will NOT work.

No, I think you did it on purpose. I have no idea why, but it was most definitely on purpose

K, so this one time, I was between sets at the gym, and I started to watch the TV that was right above the cables station. (A station that many exercises can be done at with many pulleys and different apparatuses used for pulling weight through pulleys....in case some of you are fatasses who have never been to a gym...fatass.
)
There was the very pretty lady on the tele, a Fox News anchor of sorts, I guess. She was talking to an Obama adviser about the Economy stimulus plan. After they exchanged a few words, she said, "Well, what does an Obama Stimulus package look like?"
I lol'd.

I suppose the jig is up.
It was said by the very wicked witch of the west herself Nancy Pelosi..we can only hope she is one of those 500 million to lose their jobs.

So THAT'S where you got it from. You democrat, you.

500 million is like the US workforce times 3. 300 mil. is the total population, not the work force. The most pessimistic prediction I've heard is 40% unemployement (including discouraged workers) which would probably be closer to 1.8 mil unemployed.
Symmetric Chaos
Easy to solve, it's clear that all those people deserve to lose their jobs.

It was that kind of math that got us into this trouble. OMG

I'm a liberal, including fiscally and even I don't believe this stimulus package will work. I'm only for fiscal liberalism when government is effective and accountable and our government has proven to be highly incompetent and unable to even keep up with the bailout money they just dispersed. Why should I trust them with more money? Furthermore I just don't think 300 dollars a person is going to do a thing. 300 dollars is nothing when you don't have a job and the bills keep coming.
Darth Jello
wow, ****ed that number up, I meant 180 mil

Not knowing how many people live in your country makes you ignorant. (by the way, as of July 2008 it was 303,824,640.)
Not bothering to look it up before posting makes you lazy.
"Verbal" means "pertaining to words". You got a number wrong... by close to 200 million.
If someone asks me how many birds are on a fence, and I say that there are 5 when there are actually 3, that is not a verbal mistake. It means that I either can't count or can't see, not that I made a "verbal gaffe".
Not knowing that difference...that makes you stupid.

however, one can misuse exaggeration for rhetorical effect, which would be at least closer to a "verbal gaffe"
par the example, were there more birds on the fence than someone had ever seen, they might exclaim that there were "millions" or "tons", neither likely being correct, though the intent of the phrase is not to carry exact data but rather the concept of a surprisingly large amount.

The package will only work well in the long run.

Lemon Socialism-a system of subsidization in a capitalist state becoming either communist or kleptocratic wherein the government subsidizes failing industries to keep them afloat even if they have no merit. In the communist model, other industries cannot compete due to the sheer amount of subsidized industries that are eventually nationalized and are in turn nationalized until there is no free enterprise at all. In the more likely kleptocratic example, corporate profits are privatized, losses are socialized, and industry bleeds the country's coffers dry becoming more and more apathetic to rule of law and leave once the money runs out, or wait until social order breaks down and assume a ruling stance most similar to fascism, or corporatocracy.
