I want to start collecting x-men comics, but have no idea where to start. Where would you guys reccomend. However, i would prefer the storylines to focus more on cyclops than on wolverine. To be honest the less wolverine the better lol.. I also take the art into consideration, and prefer recent comic books from 2000 to current. Furthermore, i would also like to read about rogue, storm, jean, and iceman.

Then i suggest you dont collect x-force.

I would suggest Joss Whedon's run on the Xmen - his character depictions seem very much true to their personas and he showcases Scott as the leader that he is. Of course you'll have to like the Emma/Scott pairing to really appreciate the comics. Here, if you want to take a look at the intro comic to that series in a cool sorta-animation:
