But then a lot of movies take turn being my favorite, because you can only watch Amadeus at a rate of about once per... decade?

The original Star Wars trilogy will probably always top my list. Past that, I've found that putting them in order is too difficult, I enjoy the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Fight Club (like many of you), Seven, etc.

It's really impossible for me to choose which film is my all-time favorite; different films have different qualities which entertain in entirely different ways.

Right now... I love The Incredibles, it's so well done

He made up for his choices when he listed the foreign films at least MasterCrimzon.

I just keep a regular favourite movies list, because you choose one particular film and you see another one tomorrow and so on, you will have to change your "all time favourite" quite often.

Godfather, Pan's Labrynth, Lord of the Rings trilogy, Star Wars, Gladiator, those come to mind. Prolly more I can't think of now.

Equilibrium...Star Wars (both Trilogies), Knowing (at the moment), and several others that escape my mind.

Gladiator imo, although thats only if I had to choose, if I didnt id certainly say many films would be just as great, I chose Gladiator just because its one of the great films ive seen the most.

I'd like to add, The Matrix trilogy. One of my favs...by far. Maybe even my favs.

Well, The Matrix Revolutions, The Phantom Menace and A Nicholas Cage Movie are certainly not among the greatest films of all time, so I'd say... yeah.

On the other hand, the genuine "best films of all time", in my opinion, ignoring what my favourites are:

Are you 6 years old? Your favourite film is the latest summer "blockbuster"?

Plus it's suppose to be the worst in the whole series, how can you like Salvation over either of the first two!! If he meant that, I got confused by his post.

Mmm... quite so. Though Empire did give it 4 stars. Doesn't make it half as good a film as The Godfather or even Terminator 2, but I suspect I'll like it considerably more than 3 (which I thought SUCKED).

I don't like Empire, don't listen to them myself.

I think it's great. To each his (or her) own. Most critics are going to get a good deal "right", but also make some very dubious judgements. Even great ones like Siskel & Ebert, etc. Empire have a lot of reviewers, so dismissing them all is a tad unfair, but I guess the majority consensus will normally give the best idea of a film's quality, and it's not been positive for Terminator Salvation, on the whole, I believe...
