Despite a ratings decline this season, NBC plans to bring back "Heroes" for a fourth season, said entertainment president Angela Bromstad.

The Hollywood Reporter says the network plans to order 18-20 episodes of the show for next season. That's fewer hours than "Heroes" first or current third season (which each had orders of at least 23 episodes), with season two having been cut short due to the writers strike.

For all its headline-making audience erosion, "Heroes" is still tied with NBC's "The Office" as the network's top-rated series among adults 18-49 this season. "Heroes" also still performs well internationally.

The network has privately discussed setting a series end date for "Heroes," which would followed the creative model used with critical success by ABC's "Lost," SCI FI's "Battlestar Galactica" and FX's "The Shield." But even if NBC ever made such a move, Bromstad said, they wouldn't want to make next season the conclusion.

IMO the show is barely holding on and is losing ratings fast.

Ya Krunk'd Floo
Season 1 was excellent, Season 2 was muddled, and Season 3 is boring me fast. It looks like the gradient of the show's downhill drop is getting steeper.

MildPossession
I stopped watching Season 3 a few episodes in, it started when they moved it to another day and I missed it because of that. Just haven't bothered after the break they had. Same for Sarah Connor Chronicles...

starlock
I guess its good news...i will take a ok episode of heroes over most of whats on T.V these days...i loathe reality T.V...but i dont expect the new season to be a great one....it seems like season 1 was the shows high point.....which is usually ok...but i would like to see a change in the shows formula

Captain REX
I agree with Starlock, Heroes is miles above any of the reality television that is plaguing the airwaves. Not one of America's better inventions.

I'm not sure where they will go with Season 4, but I'll watch and find out next September.

MildPossession
I thought reality shows were an European invention?

I think MTV was one step ahead with the ol' Real Life thing. It's all a load of garbage anyway.

As for Heroes...Zzzzzz...Just saw episode 17...It's getting so dull, repetitive, and repetitive. They should quit now.

BruceSkywalker
Next season episodes order is less..

Captain REX
To be expected. They did hint at something at the end of the article...

BrookeSmith
Actually I only loves Season 1...But I still watched all seasons and I hope it can get better...

Bespin Bart
Maybe we should start theorizing which direction the Fourth Season will take? Spoilers are already showing up as the writers hint at things. Bryan Fuller seems to think that what he's come up with for Hiro is going to kick ass.

The Big O
someone always thinks that and then it isn't no expression

we all know Hiro is just comic relife. i wouldn't mind finding out what the hell is the matter with him, however. how could someone with sucha kick as power be so...so...so NOT kick ass confused1

starlock
Why even bother with another season....since season ones ending..this show has been going down big time!...i see a season of melodrama and lots of bad writing coming up for season 4.....the season ending was just so bad...i dont think the show will ever recover.

crimsonphoenix
In my opinion if they dont start putting some umph into this season, it might be there last one. I was so dissapointed with the last episode in season 3. They need to show us a fight. A good one. Maybe add some fresh new characters.

Captain REX
Why is everyone so disappointed and whiney? I'm going to keep watching Heroes but I might stop posting in the Heroes forum. Shit.

RoguePw25
I feel you Rex. Honestly, it bother me at all that we didn't see a "good fight" The epiosde kept me glued to my seat in anticipation of what would happen next. Plus we had a lot of good twists that I didn't see coming. What more do you want?

because it was disappointing? confused

I actually loved how they named the next Volume Redemption. Since Fuller came back to the show, we have had good episodes, but it will be foolish to not admit that there are many plot holes due to inconsistent writing. Not all can be erased in five episodes, and I think what has been done to correct some wrongs have been successful, but still not all is right, and the finale had many plot holes.
But a good S4 can happen, and I will watch it anyways...

The Big O
i'm buying S3 dvd though, just to keep my head in the game. i have no problems with the show, just some of the characters and how they are written and probably the way the show is directed sometimes?

Vinny Valentine
I was a very strong fan for season 1-2, and loved Heroes.... And then... They changed their whole shows ideas to make it "more fast paced" for the audiences who didn't like a story unfolding slowly.

End case? Heroes got ****ed and should have been canceled by now. They've butchered the show beyond repair.

Why...because the potential to have a great show and see it fail..is dissapointing.....and because threads were made to discuss it..so we whine..tends to happen...but being a mod ..i would expect you know this...so this is your way of being dissapointed and whinny...right?....i wont miss you if you dont post...but i like seeing both sides and different perspectives..it makes life interesting...at least for me wink

Now..season 4.....i would like to see them cut the cast down...and save some money to show an actual fight with powers....

Entity
Here's what pisses me off! Among other obvious things, its been basically 5 years now with all the month skips and long drawn out volumes events. So why isn't Hiro all cool badass Hiro from the future and Peter got a scar and became a total hardened neo type like we saw in 5 years gone?

Also has anyone besides me noticed just how very possible that future still is despite the changes in the time line? I mean who knows what other twist could happen to change things back to how they will be in that future. Sylar IS Nathan now and its only a small matter or time before he's fully himself again. We all know it. His mind heals, and there's only about a dozen possible triggers to set it off. He can heal, so how is that explained when he suddenly gets a paper cut or something, or how about the next time Peter trys to borrow his flight ability and gains telekensis instead? Or when he suddenly starts knowing when people lie or seeing how they work as he hangs out with other heroes.

Seriously wtf was Noah thinking? I mean I understand Angela, she's made it perfectly clear on several occasions that Nathan is the world to her and the only thing that really matters about her family. So its no surprise to me that she'd rather convince a monster that he's Nathan so she can keep him than let him go and just leave her with her last resort son Peter. But Noah should be so against this it's just ridiculous to even think of considering it. All he should want to do is get a sawed off shotgun and blow Sylar's head clean away. Pretty damn sure that'd take care of any hidden spot! But NO!!! Instead lets not only let him live and keep him around our families as a close member but lets also give him everything he wanted that we were trying to stop. A life as Nathan with a nice possibility at that future presidency he's wanting.

F*cking morn writers! mad

Captain REX
Morn writers?

Red Nemesis
Morn
-adj.

Characterized by low intelligence, apathetic blunders and an overabundance of body hair.

I have mixed feelings about the show. Somehow, it seems like the entire plotline is a crescendo without end; a lead up to a climax that never happens.

Robert Knepper, who played Theodore "T-Bag" Bagwell on Fox's "Prison Break," has been tapped as the new lead villain on NBC's "Heroes" next season, says The Hollywood Reporter.

In at least six episodes of the series' fourth season, Knepper will play Samuel, a Jim Jones type -- charismatic but evil, with a twisted sense of humor -- who will veer into the lives of all heroes.

The character had been referred to as "Carnival Barker" in the series breakdown released last month. Filming for "Heroes" will start again later this week.

T-Bag FTW!!

British actor Ray Park, whose role as Darth Maul in Star Wars: Episode I -- The Phantom Menace made him an icon to fanboys far and wide, is in talks to join the cast for a sizeable arc. Additionally, Deanne Bray (Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye, The L Word) is nearing a deal to come on board for multiple episodes.

Former "Battlestar Galactica" star Rick Worthy is in negotiations to play a recurring role on NBC's "Heroes" next season, playing Matt Parkman's (Greg Grunberg) new partner: an experienced and capable Los Angeles cop and someone that Matt can lean on for advice.

He joins several other new "Heroes" cast additions for next season, fellow recurring Robert Knepper and Madelina Zima.

Worthy is a sci-fi veteran, having appeared on such series as "Enterprise," "Star Trek: Voyager," "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine," "Stargate SG-1," "Dark Angel" and "Odyssey 5."

Bryan Fuller Exits Heroes Again
Source:Ain't It Cool News
June 22, 2009

Ain't It Cool News reports that "Heroes" consulting producer Bryan Fuller has left the show a second time to concentrate on his two new pilots in the works:

"Development was really starting to heat up, And it appears like I may be writing multiple pilots for NBC so that wasn't leaving a ton of room for 'Heroes,' unfortunately," the star writer-producer tells AICN exclusively. "We crafted some really great arcs for the season that I'm excited to see come to fruition. I love that cast dearly and am sad to go, but the plate -- she was over-flowing."

Fuller wrote some of the show's best episodes, including "Company Man" and "Cold Snap." He left "Heroes" near the end of the first season for "Pushing Daisies" and returned near the end of last season.

Kring FAIL!!!

NBC is pulling down these videos fast, so you better hurry

The Big O
ah really hope this season isn't a bunch of frak. there's not that much worth while, must see tv on nowadays.

starlock
That trailer does nothing to make me excited...it actually makes me very weary of next season.....i just see lots of bad set ups...and can they please leave sylar out of this season.......i get so sick of his character...but the proof is in the watching...and i will be there hoping for the best

BruceSkywalker
i will watch but hold out little hope... Leave Spock, err Sylar on the big screen, so the writers can concentrate on other stuff

S_D_J
They will not, ever, stop using Sylar in the show

...that's until Quinto decides to leave, or the show ends

MildPossession
I see they have got Claire a girlfriend. Did I miss something in Season 3?

S_D_J
we all missed it

Mairuzu
Yeah, she went out with so many douche bags that she switched to women.

Who Are the Heroes Going to Call?
Source:The Hollywood Reporter
August 12, 2009

Ernie Hudson ("Oz," Ghostbusters) has joined NBC's "Heroes" in a recurring role, says The Hollywood Reporter.

He will play Captain Lubbock, a Baltimore detective. Lubbock is reportedly on the hunt for one of the other characters on the show.

Hudson has played a detective in a recurring role on ABC's "Desperate Housewives." He also played a senior deputy on ABC's dramedy "10-8: Officers on Duty."

RoguePw25
Just saw the sneek peek, not sure what to think. Honestly, doesn't look that promosing to me. Claire has a girlfriend as in girl friend or romantically?

Real disappointed to see Sylar back....thought that nightmare was over.

gobstakid777
personally, Sylar's the main reason I still watched the show instead of droppin out in that god-awful season 3 and i'm glad he's back to bein evil ol sylar again.I'm really itchin to see this Nylar biz in season 4 but i don't think it'll last and i actually have an in-universe xplaination why
Sylar had Regenration
Memory erasing leaves scars or whatever
Heal those scars and you get your memory back
He Heals the scars and BAM sylar's back
even though that will mean Nate will really be dead

S_D_J
SPOILER ALERT

Contains *painful* Spoilers

Heroes: Sylar and Parkman's New Connection
achary Quinto and Greg Grunberg tell us what's to come in Season 4.

no expression

S_D_J
Everyone (who's still likes Heroes) should read this:

Heroes: What We Want
More death, less future and perhaps a threeway with a vampire?

what do you guys think?

The Nuul
Yuck, sick of Sylar now.

starlock
I think the show is as lost as the writers and head muckety mucks, but tv being what it is...i loathe reality shows more than heroes,so i wil be there but i will not delude myself that this show will be good, this show has seen its high point and will never reach its potential before the axe comes down

Kill Sylar for good...he almost makes me want to never watch this show again..please!

S_D_J
yep, Sylar should die already. I like Zachary Quinto, I really do, is not his fault, it's the writers', but seriously Sylar has overstayed his welcome.
... and the whole thing with Sylar on Matt's head messed

I rather see Spock on the big screen
