I was told of a graphic novel where Superman gets corrupted because he's lost his faith, his parents are dead and Lois Lane is married and probably has a child. Batman stops trusting him and starts to carry some Kryptonite.

Ummm can't say I've heard of the series but Batman has carried Kryptonite for a long time, because Superman trusts him....
